DVD Reviews
If you've been watching this show for 5 years, then you
pretty much know what it's about. It has lots of action and
testosterone. Even though they're just police, they act more
like paramilitary half the time. Even though Hawaii has a
very low crime rate, the show makes it sound like Hawaii is
Detroit or worse.
The handsome heroes and their friends take on the scum of
the Earth, like mobsters and spies. It's all fun, for the
most part. I lived in Hawaii for the last 3 years, and
I can tell you that the show is pure fantasy. However, it's
also an important part of the show's economy, so please do
keep watching the show, so that all of those wonderful local
Hawaii people can keep their jobs!
It's fun for those of us who live or have lived in that
area to watch the show because they show a lot of local
landmarks, so you can watch and find the places you've been.
I lived downtown, and they were often filming nearby, so
that was very neat. One time they even filmed 3 blocks away,
on the rooftop of the building where my husband worked, and
you could hear fake gunfire echoing for a long ways. I could
even see some of their filming from my apartment window. I
really miss that!
The DVD episodes are just fun as ever. There are many
great DVD features. CBS is good about having many features
on their DVD's such as Behind-The-Scenes and more. See below
for a detailed list. This would make a good gift for any fan
who likes action or Hawaii.
