Ricky Gervais Show: Complete First Season

The Ricky Gervais Show somehow manages to be very funny.
Basically, they took these podcasts that he and his two friends made, where they
are just sitting around, talking and joking. Then they animated them, which
gives you something more to look at then just three guys sitting there, and it
makes it a little more fun.
They are very funny guys, too. Maybe it's just because they have the British
accents, but I thought they were funny. Better than most people would be if they
were just sitting, making jokes. Of course Gervais is hysterical and the most
well-known of the group.
The DVD doesn't have too many features, just an episode storyboard, and
something called "Comedy Gala Animation", which is just another bit from what I
can tell.
Still, it's very funny and worth checking out if you like comedy. It's kind of
like improvisational stand-up comedy, although I'm sure it's not quite as "off
the cuff" as they try to make it sound, which is why it's funny.

from the Show's Debut Season and Bonus Material

Extras) comes to life in animated form in The Ricky Gervais Show, the Emmy
Award-winning series set for release on DVD by Warner Home Video (WHV) January
4, 2011. The release will feature all 13 half-hour episodes from the show's
first season on two discs, plus bonus material. Titled The Ricky Gervais Show:
The Complete First Season, this release will retail for $29.98 SRP.
From the creators of the smash-hits The Office and Extras, The Ricky Gervais
Show is an animated comedy based on a series of highly popular audio podcasts
voiced by Gervais, collaborator Stephen Merchant, and colleague/friend Karl
Pilkington that have been set to clever, eye-catching animation. The podcasts'
storylines, which were inspired by Pilkington's offbeat musings about life,
built a tremendous following amongst fans, earning a spot in the Guinness Book
of World Records for the most downloads. Among the topics discussed in season
one are Pilkington's view on population control, monkeys in space, lion
mutilation, public nudity, reversing the aging process, "Monkey News" segments
and much more.
The Ricky Gervais Show premiered on HBO in February 2010 and won an Emmy for
Outstanding Achievement in Animation Character Design. Gervais earned a spot on
Time Magazine's 2010 list of Most Influential People and has been selected to
host the Golden Globe Awards for the second time in 2011. He has earned multiple
awards for his work in television, including Emmy and Golden Globe Awards.
