This show has some funny moments, but to me it's not hilarious.
It is only sometimes-funny. If you are the type to only like very subtle humor,
or very gentle humor, or weird humor, then you might like it. It could be what
some refer to as high-brow. The show is very popular among very smart people.
Maybe I'm not smart enough to appreciate it, but to me it's just okay. I
like the songs more than I like the parts in between (the dialogue etc.).
If you don't know by now, the show is about some folk singers
from Scotland who come to America to make their success. All of the
characters are kind of quirky and odd. So far they have had 2 seasons of the
show on HBO. I'm not sure why they felt they had to have a "complete collection"
now because I'm pretty sure I read they are going to do a third season.
If you have bought the seasons separately, then you have most of
this set's disks already. They are exactly the same as far as I can tell, right
down to the packaging and features. There is also a separate disk of the
live concert they did in 2005, which was their audition for HBO, called "Flight
of the Conchords: One Night Stand". This has not been on DVD before.
So if you like this type of humor, you should enjoy the set.
