I've been a huge fan of "ER" since it started, and the last
season was no different. In fact, I am still annoyed that they canceled it. I
think that costs were the only reason. They wanted to make big cutbacks at NBC,
and so they came up with the "brilliant" idea to put Jay Leno on at 9/10 every
night (look how great that turned out!). In order to make room for that, they
had to cancel most of their great dramas. ER is not a show that can air in the
second hour, and neither was Southland, another great NBC drama. So they
canceled both. I bet they regret that now!
Back to the DVD. This is for the 13th season, not quite the end
yet. There are more cast changes, as there seemed to be every season for the
past 10! But it always works somehow. John Stamos was a welcome
addition to the show this year. I love him! I hope he finds another good
show.
The DVD is really good and there are many wonderful episodes.
You should definitely get it if you like fine drama. ER is never boring,
that's for sure.
The only extras are some outtakes (gag reel). They are
always fun to watch. I wish there were more, though.

Warner Bros. is releasing ER: The Complete Thirteenth Season on
DVD on July 6th.
Below is information about the DVD/Thirteenth season.
Synopsis: Shaking things up: Former paramedic, now intern Dr. Tony Gates arrives
with a straightforward attitude and a complicated personal life. Except for his
devotion to healing, he’s Gallant’s opposite: brash, cocksure, with a bad-boy

shaking things up: Contentious Weaver leaves County General for a career move
you wouldn’t expect. And the profound dramas of the outside world continue to
make their way to the ER, including a hostile patient whose real condition is a
secret even to himself, homeless children who escape to a magic world of their
own making, and a Christmas miracle. Then again, miracles happen every day at
County General.
