Doom Patrol: The
Complete First Season
Review by Suzanne Lanoue
9/25/19 |
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy
of the Blu-ray I reviewed in this post. The opinions I share
are my own.
I love this series, and I'm so glad to have
the DVD. I had watched part of it on the DCU streaming
service, but I never got around to watching the rest of it
(same with "Titans," which I also love - and where Doom
Patrol first appeared). Now I can watch it on DVD, which
makes me very happy.
I read these comics a long time
ago, back in the 1960's. They've been through many
incarnations in the comics since then. I think they did a
great job with the new series. Anyone can enjoy it, whether
they've seen the comics or not.
The series has some
of my favorite actors, like Alan Tudyk, Matt Bomer, Timothy
Dalton and Brendan Fraser. The show is funny, sweet, sad,
serious and filled with action. There are many great
guest-stars as well. I don't see why anyone wouldn't love
this show, especially if they love superheroes.
The
DVD set doesn't have too many special features, which is too
bad. This series would make a great gift for anyone.
