DVD Reviews
I watched this show when it first aired, and
I loved it. Of course, Tom Hanks became a big star after
this. Now, he was always a fine actor on this, but I never
thought he was all that attractive (I don't like curly hair
on guys, so I think that's why). My favorite was Peter
Scolari. Funny that Scolari would just be a TV actor, for
the most part, and Hanks would go on to be one of the best
actors of our time.
It was a silly comedy, but I
enjoyed it. The characters were fun and silly, but the jokes
were funny, for the most part. It has a great Billy Joel
theme song, too!
It was only on two seasons, but I'm
glad that it came out on DVD. I didn't realize that a lot of
their acting was improvised, back then. It's nice to know.
Holland Taylor, who was so great later on in "Two and a Half
Men" plays their boss, Ruth, in the first season.
A
lot of the jokes in the first season were about them having
to dress as women. They moved away from that in the second
season. I think that was a bad idea and why the show got
canceled.
Anyone who likes good comedy should enjoy
this DVD series.
