DVD Reviews
This show is on its 6th season, so anyone watching the
show or DVD's probably knows by now what it's like. It's a
very conservative, family-oriented show about the Reagan
family, headed by the patriarch Frank (played by the
legendary Tom Selleck). The Reagans are mostly cops and
their spouses, so the show centers around how they cope with
the stress and politics of their jobs.
Each season,
the writers do a very good job of creating more for the
characters to do and put more action into it, and more
stress for the characters to deal with. This season, they're
dealing with PTSD, a kidnapping, terrorism, a serial killer
and more.
The only gripe I have about the CBS DVD's
is that they don't have the "play all" feature that most TV
DVD's have. You have to go to each episode to play them.
It's not a big deal, though. They always have many great
features on their DVD's, which I appreciate. This one has
quite a few specials about the Reagan family and what goes
on with them this season; there's another one about the
serial killer story; there's a feature that focuses on
Donnie Wahlberg; along with the usual commentary, behind the
scenes, deleted scenes and gag reel. There's quite a lot
here. It's a very entertaining series and any fan should
enjoy this set. Even if you've never seen the show, you
won't be lost too much by watching this DVD. You should
quickly catch up on who's who and what they do.
