DVD Reviews
“Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free
copy of the Blu-ray I reviewed in this Blog Post. The
opinions I share are my own.”
I love this show and never miss it. Each
year, it seems they have to get more and more exciting and
explosive to keep the fans interested. Personally, I would
just be happy with regular "Green Arrow" stories like they
do in the comic books, but TV is a little bit different.
They have to try to keep everyone interested from moment to
moment because competition is fierce. I worry that they will
run out of ideas, or ways to amp up the action, without
making it look ridiculous.
At the end of the last
season, there was a huge explosion that risked everyone's
life. It was a bit of a letdown, in a way, that few people
died. However, I'm sure that other fans, like myself, were
breathing a sigh of relief that none of our favorites died.
Well, except Malcolm Merlyn. I hope they can bring him back
someday.
This season saw Oliver facing down a ton of
new enemies, as well as dealing with many issues among his
own friends and co-heroes. That's always been true for this
show, though. I'm glad that he and Felicity stayed together.
I really don't like that he has a son, but I can see why
they keep him around. It adds an element of danger to
Oliver's life. I didn't like the end of the season, but I
hope that the next season does a good job of following up.
I'm pretty annoyed, actually, that they killed off one of my
very favorite characters, and off-screen. That was quite a
disappointment.
Despite these drawbacks, I enjoy the
show every week and can't wait for it to return for season
7. I hope it's on for another 3 years, at least!
The
DVD has many features, just like all of the Warner Brothers
DVD's have for their shows. They do a great job. This would
make a great gift for any comic book fan.
