DVD Reviews
I watch this show every week and never miss it, along with
"DC's Legends of Tomorrow," "Flash," "Supergirl," and
"Gotham!" I'm a sucker for any comic book shows or series,
especially great ones like this. Even though "Arrow" is now
on its 5th season, it just keeps getting better.
When
the show first started, I wondered how I would like it,
since Oliver was such a tortured individual. He was a killer
and no one was called him "The Green Arrow." It's been great
to watch his transformation over the 4 seasons, even though
he's had to endure some truly horrible losses.
In the
fourth season, they go a bit into the territory of magic and
mysticism. This is quite a departure from a show
that's always been pretty realistic and grounded. Or at
least, as realistic as a superhero TV show can be.
The villain this year, Damian Darke, is as funny and
charming as he is evil. The stakes end up being very high -
the end of the world! The stakes just keep getting bigger
and bigger each system. What's next?
You should
definitely buy the first 3 seasons and watch those before
watching this one. Otherwise, you won't really appreciate it
as much. Also, if you watch this show, you'll also
want to watch at least "Flash" if not also "DC's Legends of
Tomorrow" because of all of the crossover episodes.
The DVD has a lot of great features about the show, and this
season in particular. There's a lot to keep any fan busy for
a while. Make sure you watch this if you're a comic book
fan!
