The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange: Season 1

 Review by Suzanne Lanoue 7/9/13

This is kind of a kid's show that originated on the Web but is now a show on Comedy Central. I think kids should enjoy it, and also anyone who likes silly or dumb humor. It's not really funny enough, for me to watch it, but it's okay, not offensive or anything.

These guys put their faces on oranges, fruit and other items and then they make jokes about it, basically. The first episode was a Star Trek spoof, and it was amusing. I really enjoyed the extras on the DVD more than the show itself.

The last DVD has all the features, which I appreciate. I hate when they spread them out over multiple disks. My only complaint is that there is no closed-captioning. Unfortunately, this is common on kids' DVD's. Maybe I would have found the show funnier if I could hear or read everything they said, but they do a lot of silly voices, which makes them sometimes hard for me to understand.

There are plenty of features. "Exposed" is just a lot of clips from their making the show (not really a coherent "making of" feature).  "Behind the scenes" is more about how the show started and what they do.  "Sizzle reel" is just a much of silliness, really.  "The storyboard animatic" is just an animated version of the storyboard. And then they have the first webisode, which I found to be very funny (although short).

Enjoy the DVD!:
