Review of "Bob
♥ Abishola" 9/26/19 by
Eva Diaz
airs Mondays, 8:30/7:30c on CBS
I watched the commercials for this show and
thought it looked funny. I think it will be, but
the cast needs time to gel together. Bob (Billy
Gardell) has a heart attack and ends up in the
hospital where he meets a nurse from Nigeria
named Abishola (Folake Olowofoyeku). It's
love at first sight for Bob, so he sets out to
win her heart. Bob runs a sock company, and
seeing that Abishola is wearing inferior socks
made by another company, he gives her a gift of
several pairs of the socks he sells. Bob also
finds out where Abishola lives and takes the bus
with her, so he can get to know her. Abishola
isn't interested in a relationship and doesn't
have much time for anything.
I think
this show is different and could be a hit
because it is funny and heartwarminmg. As
I said, the cast needs to get comfortable with
each other first, and once that happens, I think
it will be more fun to watch. I think that I
will continue to watch it, to see if it gets
better, which I hope it will, in future
episodes. The first episode seemed a bit
predictable, but maybe that's because they took
the funniest parts of the first episode and
showed them in the commercials for the
showbeforehand.
I give this show a three out of five stars because I think it's different
from most comedies on the air now.

MORE INFORMATION:
From
award-winning creator, executive producer and writer Chuck
Lorre, BOB ♥ ABISHOLA is a
love story about a middle-aged compression sock businessman
from Detroit who unexpectedly falls for his cardiac nurse, a
Nigerian immigrant, while recovering from a heart attack and
sets his sights on winning her over. Undaunted by Abishola’s
lack of initial interest or the vast differences in their
backgrounds, Bob is determined to win Abishola’s heart, in
this comedic examination of immigrant life in America.
