There are many angst-teens-live-at-a-creepy-boarding-school shows right now. I guess they all want to be either like Harry Potter or a skewed version of that (more like "Lord of the Flies"). Another variation on this is the spooky-college-where-nothing-is-as-it-seems.  These shows include "The Magicians," "Deadly Class" and "Umbrella Academy." I'm sure there are others that I'm forgetting about.

In this one, Jake Manley stars as Jack, who wants to get revenge on his father for some dark reason. His grandfather (played by an always-welcome Matt Frewer) helps him go to this college that has a secret organization. Somehow, they feel that this organization will help them in their quest for revenge.

As Jack learns more about The Order, he finds out that magic is involved, and his classmates start dying. It's an interesting combination of spooky mystery and fantastical supernatural elements.

"The Order" is an interesting show, but it starts of fairly slow, which may put off some fans. The main characters are very likable, especially Manley and Sarah Grey, who plays Alyssa.  Sam Trammell ("True Blood") plays one of the professors, Eric Clarke.

I loved the first episode and will be sure to watch the rest when I have some free time. Don't miss this one!
