Review of "Fast Layne" 3/17/18 by Suzanne
airs Sundays, 7/6c on The Disney Channel

I didn't know I would love this limited run series, but I do. Even though it's aimed at kids, it's fast-paced, funny, and has a lot of fun scifi elements.

Sophie Pollono plays Layne, a smart but overly-organized young girl who's running for class president. She has two very smart parents as well. When they leave to go to a conference, she discovers a nearby shed with a fantastic talking car, Vin, in it.  Her neighbor, Zora (Sofia Rosinsky), who's kind of a home-schooled kook, gets involved in Layne's adventures. Brandon Rossel plays Cody, a handsome mechanically-minded chicano boy that helps fix the car.

This would be a fun cartoon, but it's great as a live-action show. There are many fun adventures, and bad guys, and a government conspiracy, and crazy special effects. I think any scifi fan or kid would love this show.

When VIN needs some mechanical attention, Layne enlists the help of Cody, a smart and charming boy who works in his Abuelo’s garage. Layne also navigates prodding questions from her younger cousin Mel, a nosy survivalist-in-training who is determined to uncover her secret.
