Review of "The
Sinner" 8/5/17 by
Suzanne
Airs Wednesdays 10/9c on USA Network
This show really grabs you and makes you want to keep
watching. Jessica Biel, who's almost unrecognizable here as
a drab, mousy woman, plays a wife and mother, who works with
her husband and his family in their air-conditioning repair
business. She appears to be having weird
memories or dreams about her childhood that involve
religion, and she also seems unhappy and perhaps suicidal.
Then, while at the beach, she does something horribly
violent and shocking. The rest of the series follows a
detective (Bill Pullman), who tries to find out why she did
it. He's got a lot of demons of his own that we see as
he investigates.
I only watched the first episode, but I can say it's a
doozy and I want to see what else will happen. It's the type
of series that has many surprises and shocks. It's
more like a mini-series, with only 8 episodes, so I guess
we'll find out why she did it.

THE SINNER STARRING JESSICA BIEL AND
BILL PULLMAN AIRS NEW EPISODES WEDNESDAYS AT 10/9c!
An eight episode close-ended
series, The Sinner follows a young
mother (Jessica Biel) who, when overcome by
an inexplicable fit of rage, commits a startling act of
violence and to her horror has no idea why. The event
launches an inverted and utterly surprising crime thriller
whose driving force is not the “who” or the “what” -- but
the “why” -- as an investigator (Bill Pullman)
finds himself obsessed with uncovering the woman's buried
motive. Together they travel a harrowing journey into the
depths of her psyche and the violent secrets hidden in her
past. New episodes of The Sinner air Wednesdays at
10/9c on USA.
