Review of "Child
Support" 1/6/17 by
Eva Diaz
airs Fridays 8/7c on ABC.
I am so happy that ABC is bringing game shows back to
network TV! The latest in their lineup is called
"Child Support," which is similar to "Who wants to be a
Millonaire" because of the type of questions they ask.
They have a panel of five kids in a room backstage that can
help the adults with any question they get wrong. If any of
the five children gets the correct answer to the question,
the adult (who is playing for up to $200,000) can continue
playing towards winning the money. If the adult gets the
question wrong, and the kids don't know the answer, the
adult playing the game goes home with no money.
Fred Savage is the host, and while I have always loved
Fred Savage as an actor, I really don't think he is a good
game show host because he's way too calm and boring. Ricky
Gervais, who is backstage with the kids, does a great job of
keeping the kids focused, while making sure they have fun at
the same time. Despite the host not being the best choice,
I enjoyed this show very much. I could root for the
contestants to win, but the most fun part for me about this
show is listening to the kids answer the questions because
sometimes they guess the answer and it turns out to be
right.
I think that if you enjoy watching game shows, you will
like this one. You and your entire family can play
along, and you will laugh at the answers the kids give to
the questions. I think this will be another hit for ABC. I
give this show 5 out of 5 stars.
