"Pure
Genius" review by

Airs Thursdays, 10/9c on CBS
Pure Genius is a medical show, but unlike other medical
shows we've seen; it's unlike the other shows on
television. I'd say itss more of a fantasy then reality
because the premise is that a tech billonare builds a
state-of-theart hospital and employs the best medical
team to treat patients for free. Also, the
technology they use is not just cutting edge, but it's
not really anything used in real life.
James Bell (Augustas Prew) regularly tells his staff
that he didn't build the hospital to give bad news, so
they must find a way to cure their patients. Walter
Wallace (Dermit Mulroney) is hired by James after being
fired from where he worked because he treated an 8 year
old boy with an experimental treatment without permisson
from the hospital, and the little boy died. This show is
fun to watch because it shows the viewers the "next big
thing" in medical technology and how lives can be saved
with new technoloyg. The viewers also root for the
patients to get better, and for now, it seems like they
always have a happy ending. It's a show that really
focuses on the positive.
I wonder if, in future episodes, they will show
some patients that don't survive and whether the show
will become a little more realistic. Time will tell.
The show has a great cast; it will tug at your
heartstrings and give you hope that someday cures will
be found to terrible diseases that now have no cure.
The show is a bit slow at times, but if you like
medical shows, you will like this one. It's truly
a feel-good show. I give this show 4 out of 5 stars. If
it picks up the pace a little bit, I think it will be a
hit for CBS.
MORE INFORMATION
PURE GENIUS is a cutting-edge medical drama
about a young Silicon Valley tech titan who enlists an
exceptional veteran surgeon with a controversial past to run
a state-of-the-art hospital with an ultramodern approach to
medicine. Billionaire genius James Bell built Bunker Hill
Hospital determined to revolutionize health care and treat
the rarest and most challenging medical mysteries, at no
charge. Bell persuades maverick surgeon Dr. Walter Wallace
to be his Chief of Staff; Dr. Wallace believed medicine was
a human endeavor, not technological, until a eureka moment
at the hospital convinced him otherwise. Bell’s team of
trailblazers includes Dr. Zoe Brockett, an exceptional,
fearlessly frank physician; Dr. Talaikha Channarayapatra, an
idealistic, maddeningly literal neurosurgeon who believes
the hospital is a beacon for change; Dr. Malik Verlaine, a
former gangbanger now spearheading efforts to provide 24/7
health monitoring in poor neighborhoods via computer; Dr.
Scott Strauss, an intense neurologist with an Ivy league
pedigree; and Angie Cheng, an enthusiastic 3-D printer
programming whiz. At Bunker Hill, Bell pairs the most
brilliant minds in medicine with the most forward thinkers
in technology and cuts bureaucracy out of the equation, all
in the interest of saving lives, including his own.
