"The
Kennedys: After Camelot" review by

Airs Sundays on REELZ
I wanted to watch this miniseries because I've always
found the lives of the Kennedy family to be interesting.
While this isn't the best Kennedy family miniseries I have
seen, it isn't that bad. I will watch it until it
finishes. Mathew Perry ("The Odd Couple," "Friends") does a
pretty good job playing Ted Kennedy in the series, which
focuses on the Kennedy family's life after the assasinations
of John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy.
Katie Holmes stars as Jackie Kennedy (as she did in the
first miniseries, "The
Kennedys"). The series shows how she met and
married Aristotle Onassis. The whole thing is only 4 hours
long - I don't think it's long enough to cover all of the
scandals that surrounded the family during that time period.
I think they could have taken a bit more time and care with
the writing and made it less of a soap opera. Katie Holmes
doesn't look or sound like Jackie Kennedy; but then again, I
don't think any of the Kennedy series or movies I've seen
ever do a fair job of capturing Jackie's style or
personality.
I give this series a 3 out of 5 stars
because I think it could have been better, but it isn't as
bad as I thought it was going to be. If you like soapy
versions of history, you will like this miniseries.
