Airs Tuesdays 9/8c on CBS
I was interested in watching this show because I
have always wanted to know what a jury consultant
does, and in this show you do find out about the job
(or at least, the TV version). According to the
show, a jury consultant's job is to analyze the
members of a jury using a mock jury and computer
data to simulate the jury verdict, until you find
the one jury member who will persude the others to
give you the verdict you want to get, be it guilty
or not guilty. It's very loosely-based on the early
career of Dr. Phil McGraw. Michael Weatherly
(" NCIS")
stars as Dr. Jason Bull; He's great in the role, but
I found the pilot episode to be too slow-paced.
Maybe it was because they had to explain the premise
of the show and introduce all of the characters. I
hope it will pick up the pace in future episodes...
I truly hope so because it got a little boring even
for a fan of lawyer shows like me! I did find it
interesting that it didn't concentrate so much on
who committed the crime but focused on getting the
innocent person to go free. I don't know if in the
fiture the show will have Bull get somebody off who
actually committed the crime, but I think that would
make the show more interesting. I give this
show 3 out of 5 stars... it needs a lot of work. I
hope future episodes are better then the first
episode. The show has a strong lead-in from NCIS, so
it might last long enough to gain fans and find an
audience.
MORE INFORMATION
Bull
stars Michael Weatherly as Dr. Jason Bull in a drama
inspired by the early career of Dr. Phil McGraw, the founder
of one of the most prolific trial consulting firms of all
time. Brilliant, brash and charming, Dr. Bull is the
ultimate puppet master as he combines psychology, human
intuition and high tech data to learn what makes jurors,
attorneys, witnesses and the accused tick. Bull employs an
enviable team of experts at Trial Analysis Corporation to
shape successful narratives down to the very last detail.
They include his quick-witted former brother-in-law, Benny
Colón, a lawyer who acts as defense attorney in the
company’s mock trials; Marissa Morgan, a cutting-edge
neurolinguistics expert from the Department of Homeland
Security; former NYPD detective Danny James, the firm’s
tough but relatable investigator; haughty millennial hacker
Cable McCrory, who is responsible for gathering cyber
intelligence; and Chunk Palmer, a fashion-conscious stylist
and former All-American lineman who fine tunes clients’
appearances for trial. In high-stakes trials, Bull’s
combination of remarkable insight into human nature, three
Ph.D.’s and a top-notch staff creates winning strategies
that tip the scales of justice in his clients’ favor.
