Maya and Marty

"Maya & Marty" review by Suzanne 6/1/16
Airs
Tuesdays on NBCC

I enjoy this show, which stars Maya Rudolph and Martin Short. It's more comedy than anything, but there's a lot of music as well. I think it's more like what I expected "Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris" to be. That show was more like a game show, IMHO. This is a very fun show and a lot of it reminds me of "Saturday Night Live." I think that's the intention, since most of the actors on the show have spent a lot of time on SNL!

Maya Rudolph was in SNL from 2000-20007. Martin Short has a long career of doing sketch comedy, from SCTV to SNL to his own sketch shows and more, besides being a movie star. Kenan Thopmson has been an SNL regular since 2003, and he's one of the many SNL actors to appear on the show.

Like SNL, some of the sketches are hit-or-miss, but they're wise to keep them short, so if they're not that funny, you don't have to watch them very long. However, most of them are pretty funny. Check it out!

MORE INFORMATION:

From executive producer Lorne Michaels, the incomparable Maya Rudolph and Martin Short join forces for an all-new comedy show jam-packed with music, stars, and the unique characters and charisma of two of the biggest icons in SNL history. Stars of stage and screen, Maya and Marty are beloved by audiences of all ages.  With Kenan Thompson and a dream team of surprise celebrity guests joining them each week, this dynamic duo is ready to unleash the full range of their talents and bring the house down like never before.
