Cast of Sense8

"Sense8" review by Suzanne 6/5/15
Watch the first season now!

Netflix let me watch the first 3 episodes yesterday, and I enjoyed them. I hope to find some time soon to watch the rest! The first episode was very strange, slow, weird and confusing. It got better towards the end of the first episode, and by the second episode, I was hooked. I think it was that impromptu Bollywood number that did it! That was so bizarre.

Sense8 is a really good science fiction show about 8 unrelated people around the world who are connected and start seeing things, and each other.  The series starts slowly as they introduce the 8 different people, plus a few other characters. Darryl Hannah plays a woman at the beginning who connects them and then does something drastic. I don't want to say too much and spoil it for you.

The show is created by the Wachowski Brothers, who did "The Matrix." That movie was mind-blowing. I'm not sure this series is that, at least not as of yet. It remains to be seen. There are a lot of cool fights in it and some very interesting characters.  The other creator of the show is J. Michael Straczynski, who did "Babylon 5," a really outstanding scifi TV series. I hope the rest of the episodes live up to this great ancestry.

You'll probably recognize a few other familiar faces, such as Brian J. Smith from "Stargate Universe" and Naveen Andrews from "Lost." It's a very large and fascinating cast. Enjoy it!
