Olympus cast

"Olympus" review by Suzanne 4/8/15
Airs  Thursdays (10-11 p.m. ET) on Syfy

I wish I knew why Syfy keeps making or buying such awful shows. Even some of their best shows just scream low-budget.  This one is terrible. I couldn't even watch too much of it. It's just action and gore, plus stilted dialogue and very little character development (and bad acting). They seem to be trying to imitate "Atlantis", but it's not even as good as that show (which frankly, I don't think is that great).

I think even they know it's bad because they've done very little promotion of the show. They had original sent out a press release about the show and said there would be an interview before the premiere with the cast, but that never materialized. Is it really hard to make good scifi/fantasy? There's so much of it nowadays and I enjoy a lot of it. But not this one.

Matt Frewer is one of the stars, and I always love him, but even he can't save this crap.

MORE INFORMATION:

Get ready to enter an action-packed world where humans, gods and monsters clash when Syfy transports viewers back to ancient Greece in the channel’s newest acquired 13-part mythological drama series, "Olympus."

Starring Matt Frewer ("Max Headroom," "Orphan Black"), Sonita Henry ("Star Trek," "The Fifth Element"), Cas Anvar ("Argo," "The Expanse") and Graham Shiels ("Guardians of the Galaxy," "Thor: Dark World"), the gripping series captures the dangerous courage of a few brave men and women who banished the gods to the realm of the unconscious - a place they called the Underworld or the Kingdom of Hades. Not a place the gods would like to call home.
