"Grumpy
Cat's Worst Christmas Ever" review by Suzanne
11/12/14
Premieres November 29 8/7 on Lifetime
I like Christmas movies, and I do enjoy Lifetime movies,
but they can both be hit-or-miss. Fortunately, this movie is
a good one. It's very funny - funnier than most Lifetime
movies, in fact. It's largely for kids, but it has a lot of
fun, and most adults should enjoy it, too. I didn't expect
too much when I watched it, but I was pleasantly surprised.
It not only does take itself too seriously, it makes fun of
itself, and the audience, and Lifetime!
If you've ever been on Facebook, you know the Grumpy Cat
meme. They have her starring in this movie, and Aubrey Plaza
is the voice behind the cat. She does a great job with it,
too. Grumpy Cat narrates the movie and also provides lots of
running commentary. In the story, Grump Cat lives in a pet
store in the mall, and a teen girl who makes a Christmas
wish suddenly can understand Grumpy Cat and talk to him.
Some dumb crooks try to steal a very valuable dog from the
pet store, and the teen girl and Grump Cat battle against
them. At this point, the movie has a sort of "Home Alone"
feel to it.
It's a fun Christmas movie, and the whole family should
enjoy it. It might sound silly that an internet meme has its
own movie, but this one definitely works. Check it out!

Grumpy Cat’s
Worst Christmas Ever. The infamous kitty with the
hilariously woeful but endearing facial expression stars in
her very own live-action Christmas movie this holiday

8pm ET/PT on Lifetime.
In Grumpy Cat’s
Worst Christmas Ever, Grumpy
Cat is a lonely feline living in a
mall pet shop. Because she never gets chosen by customers,
she develops a sour outlook on life…until one day during the
holidays, a very special 12-year-old girl named Chyrstal
enters the pet store and falls in love with her after
realizing she is the only person who can hear this unique
cat talk. As the two develop a close
friendship during the holiday rush, Grumpy
reluctantly thwarts the kidnapping of an exotic dog she
dislikes and, on Christmas Eve, rescues Chyrstal after the
mall closes. Through her adventures, will
Grumpy learn the true meaning of Christmas? Or will
it be, in her words, the “Worst. Christmas. Ever?”
In the last year and a half, Grumpy
Cat (@RealGrumpyCat),
whose real name is Tardar Sauce, has arguably become the
most famous cat of all time. With
nearly 6 million Facebook friends, the adorable Internet
celebrity was named the most influential
cat by MSNBC, most important cat
by Mashable and Buzzfeed, and has appeared in news and
television shows around the world. She is the author of A
Grumpy Book (Chronicle Books),
currently in print in 14 languages and just released her
second book, The Grumpy Guide to
Life: Observations by Grumpy
Cat. Grumpy
Cat has numerous merchandising deals
and is Friskies official “spokescat.”
