"Daredevil" review by
Eva Diaz 4/20/15
Airs on Netflix - watch the first season -13 episodes now!
I love superhero shows! My favorite superheroes are
Superman, Batman, and the Flash (although, I don't agree
with some of the changes that have been made to the Superman
back story in recent film and TV versions). However, I say
all this because it is very rare for me not to have heard of
a popular superhero. I must admit, though, that I had never
heard Daredevil. Because of his being new to me, I was
excited to hear that they were going to have a show about
him. I have only seen the first episode so far, and that
episode is the basis for this review. I enjoyed the show
very much. I felt that the lighting was very dark, but it
served to highlight the evil of Hell's Kitchen where Matt
Murdock (Charlie Cox) lives. He's a lawyer who was blinded
as a child from an accident and radioactive spill. Now he
uses his skills as a lawyer to defend those people who
cannot defend themselves, and at night he is Daredevil,
defending people who need help to fight the evil around
them. I like daredevil for many reasons, but the main reason
is that as Matt Murdock the lawyer, the character can be a
hero when he wins a case, and as Daredevil he can also help
people who need him around the city.
The show has a lot of humor, but it's also dramatic and
sweet without losing the elements of a good superhero. I
also enjoy the great chemistry between Matt and his buddy
--best friend and law partner Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson). I
have heard that the supporting cast in future episodes is
great and will include Rosario Dawson. This show feels like
a movie, broken down into hourly segments. If you like a
good superhero show, mixed with a good lawyer show,
Daredevil is the one for you. Being on Netflix, it's perfect
for binge-watching on the weekend, or to watch one or two
episodes at a time when you have some free time. It is very
well-written, although the violence is a bit graphic and
disturbing at times. I give this show a 5 out of 5 stars.
The show began airing on Netflix on April 10.
Great news:

Vampire Slayer, American Horror Story) and Marco Ramirez

DeKnight and Drew Goddard, will serve as show runners
for season two.
Ramirez, Petrie, Drew
Goddard (Cabin in the Woods) and Jeph Loeb (Marvel's
