Chrisley Knows Best cast

"Chrisley Knows Best" review by Suzanne 10/9/14
Season 2 P
remieres Tuesday, October 14 at 10/9c on USA Network

Fair warning: I don't watch reality shows, and I hate most of them. However, I do like to give them a fair shot when the network goes to the trouble to send them to me to review. One of the things I don't like about them is that they're not "reality".  The people on these shows are all lying and/or following some kind of outline (if not an actual script). Nothing is as it seems, except for the bad acting and the lust for fame.

I suspect that this one is a guilty pleasure for many people. Todd Chrisley is the patriarch of a rich family in suburban Atlanta. He's a total control freak who has to dictate everything that his wife and children do and wear. They all say outrageous things and are rude to each other (even the young kids), which I gather is common in these shows. Because it's set in the South, all of the girls have big hair, using lots of hair spray. I used to live near there, and trust me, very few people actually look like this. Also, it's a very white show for one that takes place in the South.  Atlanta and that area are very Africa-American.  In fact, Atlanta is a large cosmopolitan city and has people of all different types and colors.  It's a great city. Please don't judge it by this terrible show!

In real life, no one would or could act like Todd and get away with it. His family would have killed him by now. Also, the whole family is just pure trash. I want to see them all tortured and killed, honestly (and I don't like violence or torture at all, but I might make an exception in their cases). This is how you know it's not real because these people are just mugging for the camera and putting on a show. None of it is real.

If you enjoy watching outrageous people doing and saying outrageous things (even if it's obvious that it's not true), then you might enjoy how ridiculous these people are. They're all rude, shallow and spoiled. I think we're supposed to think that they're like the people on "Dynasty".  Even at its 9th season worst, Dynasty was never this bad. I guess you're supposed to think it's funny, but to me, people acting awful and abusive to each other is not funny (also, there aren't jokes to speak of).

MORE INFORMATION:

Chrisley Knows Best returns with two back-to-back episodes on Tuesday, October 14 at 10/9pm on USA.  The real-life family comedy follows the entertaining lives of Atlanta-based, outspoken and very protective, but very loving husband and father, Todd Chrisley, and his colorful clan, including his lovely wife, Julie, and their charming yet scheming expansive brood.  Season Two promises even more comedic moments and not-to-be-missed extreme parenting lessons. Viewers will join the Chrisleys for many milestones and family adventures, including: their move into a brand-new home, teenage daughter Savannah's first date without her watchful dad (or so she thinks!), Chase's much-anticipated 18th birthday, and a memorable Father's Day, which does not exactly go Todd's way.

"Rules for Dating my Teenage Daughter" - Season Two premiere episode 201. When Julie announces she's going back to work, Todd must transform into "Mr. Mom" and take over some of the household duties. 16-year-old Savannah feels like she is ready and old enough to start dating; she pleads her case to go out with a 19-year-old heartthrob musician.

"Misadventures in Babysitting" -Episode 202.  Todd and Julie head out of town and leave their teenage children, Chase and Savannah, at home to watch 8-year-old Grayson overnight for the first time.  They hope their teens can be trusted to follow their rules, but Chase and Savannah have plans of their own, with their little partner-in-crime Grayson along for the ride.
