I'm very sorry to be so late reviewing this sitcom. I've
had a busy summer! This is a very funny political satire. A
lot of reviewers have panned it, but I don't really
understand that. Perhaps it's just too dark or too wacky for
them. I think it's pretty hilarious.
You can't beat the cast, which features movie stars Tim
Robbins, Jack Black, TV's Esai Morales and Daily Show's
Aasif Mandvi.
Jack Black is Alex Talbot, a lazy, lecherous, low-level
foreign service agent stationed in a fictional Arab country.
He gets himself into trouble during a key time when the
country becomes turbulent. Robbins plays Walter Larson, a
slightly-older version of the same character as Secretary of
State. Pablo Schreiber plays an air force pilot who seems to
spend most of his time selling or doing drugs. Mandvi plays
Rafiq, Talbot's driver, who has to put up with him.
If you love politics, you should enjoy this. It's worth
watching and funny.
