"Rizzoli
& Isles" review by Suzanne
Returns Tuesday, June 25 at 9/8c on TNT
I always love this show. It reminds me of "Cagney
and Lacey", but it's got a lot more humor. The relationship
between the two characters, and Jane's relationship with her
family, is hilarious but also very heartfelt and warm.
TNT sent me 2 episodes to review.
In the first episode, "We Are Family",
Dr. Isles is recovering this season from giving her kidney
to the sister she didn't know she had, and she's a bit put
out that the sister and her mom have not contacted her or
thanked her much. Jane finds out that her old boyfriend is
doing much better, but she gets some bad news as well.
This episode's murder mystery is a politician's
daughter that gets shot during a public gathering. David
Selby (from "Dark Shadows" and "Falcon Crest" among many
other shows) has a small part as her dad.
In the second episode, "In Over Your Head",
which airs July 2, we learn some more about Maura's family.
Sharon Lawrence returns as her mother. The feds are
investigating and following her and Maura, and we find out
why. There is a big family secret! It shows some more
great background about Maura's family.
The show is the same, which is good. I hate when they make
too many changes. I am enjoying it a lot so far this season!
Make sure you watch.
