This is a really entertaining show, and now
it's starting its second season. Eric McCormack is great as
the schizophrenic professor Daniel Pierce. Of course, he
thinks he's okay now, he's back on his medication, and he
has a romantic relationship, but.... things don't go as
planned.
Scott Wolf joins the show as Kate's ex-husband, who's now
the new DA. I guess if there's any flaw on this show, it's
that everyone is very likable. I mean Daniel is supposed to
be kind of an unsociable jerk, but he's just so darn
charismatic and cute, who could stay mad at him?
LeVar Burton is back as his boss, and Arjay Smith is also
back as his assistant, Lewicki. We also see his therapist,
Natalie (Kelly Rowan), the one that he was imagining all
these years.
The police call in Daniel's help when a prison inmate may be
getting a new trial due to his brain being messed up. He
shot himself in the head during his arrest. Daniel discovers
that the guy's brain has completely changed, so he's a new
person. It is not that obvious and easy, however. It's a
good, complex plot with a surprise ending in many ways.
Of course he is a much better "detective" when he's having
his delusions.... I don't want to give too many spoilers,
though. The show is most fun when he's acting a little
crazy.
