Kiere and Jasmine

"Continuum" Season 3 Premiere review by Suzanne
airs Friday, April 4 at 10/9c on Syfy

I love this show, and I'm thrilled to see it coming back again. I watched the end of season 2 last summer, when I was in the middle of moving, so I couldn't quite remember what was going on when I started watching the season premiere (which Syfy kindly sent me to review). However, it didn't take me long to catch up and remember.

Of course any show with time travel is going to have some moments that make your brain hurt a little. I don't mind it because I really love time travel shows and movies. I don't want to give too many spoilers, but things get really shaken up, big-time. We see a lot of Kiera and Alec in the premiere episode, and quite a bit of Jasmine and Matthew. Not enough of Carlos, though! A little bit of Inspector Dillon in a very memorable scene, and some of Jason. There is someone else we see that might really surprise you.

Unfortunately, the screeners they send out don't have most of the special effects, and the sound etc. is not final, and there's no closed-captioning, so it makes it a little bit challenging for me to watch. I couldn't hear every word that was said, but I did enjoy it quite a lot, and when it ended, I was sad that they had only sent me one episode to watch! I really hate that I have to wait until April to see the next episode.

Of course there's lots of great action just like always. I'm excited about this new season and I hope you are, too. If you haven't seen the first 2 seasons, you want to go binge-watch them right now to catch up! This is a very good scifi show. Perhaps my favorite one on the air right now, since "Fringe" is gone.

MORE INFO:

Love and loyalty clash - escalating the stakes of time travel to an intense and personal level - when Syfy's popular police drama Continuum returns for Season 3 on Friday, April 4 at 10PM (ET/PT).

At the end of Season 2, Alec Sadler (Erik Knudsen) made the Earth-shattering decision to hijack Kiera's (Rachel Nichols) chance to get home, in order to save Emily, the girl he loves, from certain death.

This act of desperation not only jettisoned Alec into the near past, but condemned Kiera to incarceration by the Freelancers, who are "collecting" time travelers to protect history. Now, Kiera must face the consequences of Alec's betrayal and somehow escape the Freelancers. Even if she can, has Alec's decision already changed the future in ways Kiera couldn't even imagine?

Continuum stars Victor Webster (Castle, Melrose Place) as Detective Carlos Fonnegra and Erik Knudsen (Jericho, Scream 4), who plays teen tech genius Alec Sadler.

Executive produers of Continuum are series creator Simon Barry (The Art of War), Pat Williams (Smallville), and Tom Rowe (Tin Man). Continuum is a Showcase original series and produced by Reunion Pictures in association with Shaw Media.
