"Dark
Minions" review by Suzanne
Airs online on Amazon Prime
This is a pilot - just one episode - for a
stop-motion animated series. It is created by and stars John
Ross Bowie and Kevin Sussman, who play Kripke and Stuart on
"Big Bang Theory". They are two very funny and
talented actors and writers.
The series is a sort of scifi satire of
movies like Star Wars, but it's mainly a workplace comedy.
In this case, the workplace just happens to be a space ship
run by the Evil Empire. I found it to be very clever
and funny, with likable characters. They both play sort of
nerd-like "slackers" who are not evil and don't like their
jobs. They inadvertently get in the middle of the
fight between their ship and the rebels on the planet down
below because one of them falls for a girl in the rebel
camp.
Sussman and Bowie are great, as are the
other actors, particularly Clancy Brown. His deep voice and
comedy timing are wonderful. He works well with sitcom
veteran Richard Kind, too. I hope you enjoy it as much
as I did! Make sure to give it a good review if you liked
it, so Amazon will make more episodes.

More Information:
Creators KEVIN SUSSMAN and JOHN ROSS BOWIE discuss their new stop motion, animated pilot, DARK MINIONS that was recently produced by Amazon Studios. Kevin and John, known for their roles on the hit CBS comedy, BIG BANG THEORY also voice the 2 lead characters alongside Clancy Brown, Andrew Daly, Jamie Denbo, Richard Kind and Phil LaMarr.
Amazon recently put all of their pilots up on their site for
viewers to watch and rate. A pretty revolutionary idea.
