TV Show Reviews

"Boston's
Finest" review by Suzanne
Premieres February 27 on TNT
I thought at first this was a fictional show, and it
reminded me somewhat of TNT's "Southland". However, it is a
"reality show" set within the lives of Boston police
officers. It's very well done and seems much more real than
most reality shows. The "characters", for lack of a better
word, are very attractive, but obviously not actors.
I
think it's a very good show, and I would watch it if I had
time to add another show. It's very gritty and real, and a
lot of stuff goes on. Probably not as much as would happen
in "Southland" or any other cop show, though, because it is
reality. It's much better than, say, "Cops" or any show like
that. It shows all different levels of the police force, and
not just their work, but their home lives as well.
Kudos to Donnie Wahlberg and the others who came up with
this great idea. I hope it sparks a trend in reality shows
to be more real and less fake, overly-dramatic, and tawdry.

TNT Explores the Riveting Lives of Boston Police Officers
In Gripping New Unscripted Series Boston's Finest
New Series from Executive Producer Donnie Wahlberg To
Premiere Wednesday, Feb. 27
This February, TNT is going to take viewers on a dramatic
journey into the lives of Boston police officers – both on
and off the job – in Boston’s Finest, a gripping new
unscripted series from executive producers Donnie Wahlberg
(Blue Bloods) and Seth Jarrett and Julie Insogna-Jarrett
(Celebrity Ghost Stories). Centering on the men and women of
the Boston Police Department, Boston's Finest will offer
viewers an up-close and very personal look at what it takes
to protect and serve one of America's greatest and most
distinctive cities. The series is set to premiere Wednesday,
Feb. 27, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT), exclusively on TNT.
Unlike many unscripted series about law enforcement,
Boston's Finest will follow the fearless actions of the
entire Boston Police Department, including patrol officers,
detectives, special task forces and members of the SWAT
Team, the Fugitive Unit and highly decorated Gang Unit.
In addition to following the officers while they are on
duty, Boston's Finest will provide a glimpse into their
personal lives when they are off the clock and living in the
same neighborhoods they protect each day. Viewers will also
be introduced to the officers' families, who serve as their
all-important support system.
Boston’s Finest not only celebrates the bravery of officers
who risk their lives every day, but also showcases the heart
and soul of one of the oldest and proudest police
departments in the nation.
Boston's Finest comes to TNT from Jarrett and Insogna-Jarrett's
Jarrett Creative Group and Wahlberg's Donnie D. Productions.
