"An
Amish Murder" review by Suzanne
Premieres Sunday, January 6, at 9:00PM
ET/PT on Lifetime
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, despite a few flaws.
Neve Campbell stars as a police chief, Kate, in a small town
in Pennsylvania. We learn that she grew up there in the
Amish country, left when she was a teen, and now has come
back, and the Amish people won't speak to her. More of her
mysterious background is revealed as the show progresses. It
is tied in to a murder she is trying to solve.
Her brother, Christian Campbell, has a small role as her
Amish brother, Jacob. The cast is a good one. Jilon Vandover
plays her ex-boyfriend, Lucas. Noam Jenkins plays John
Tomasetti, an FBI profile who comes to help with her murder
case. There are many suspects in the murder investigation. I
thought the writing was done very well and it kept my
interest.
I thought there were two flaws that sort of ruined it for
me. First of all, one of the cast members not mentioend
above, always plays either a complete jerk or a bad guy, so
when you see his name in the credits, you immediately figure
out that he's probably the villain. That was obvious to me,
at least. Secondly, the heroine's name and his rhyme,
for no apparent reason, which seemed just a bit silly. You'd
think someone would have caught that and changed it.
I read that this might be a new show...I would definitely
watch it. Despite those two flaws, it's a very good movie.
Don't forget to watch it tonight!

Kate’s renewed life in her hometown is shattered when a
