"Good Morning, Killer"
review by Suzanne
Premieres Tuesday, December 13th at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) on TNT
I found this movie to be a little dull and even somewhat
confusing. It may be less so when you see it on TV, though, because the
screeners they send us don't have the finished sound, and there is no
closed-captioning, so sometimes I have a hard time hearing what the actors are
saying.
There is a lot of action, and it has a good, strong female lead,
which I liked. Catherine Bell does a great job as FBI Special Agent Ana Gray,
who investigates a serial killer. The writing is pretty standard, like a
second-rate episode of "Criminal Minds".
The "twist" to the movie is that Gray is sleeping with Santa
Monica cop Andrew Berringer (they work together). I didn't find them to have
much chemistry, though, and I didn't really like the way things ended up between
them. The actors do a fine job, and it's nice to see William Devane in a good
(but small) role as Gray's grandfather. (Frankly, she had more chemistry with
him).
I don't really understand the title, but it's based on a book by
the same name by author April Smith. She also wrote the screenplay and is
executive producer.
