"Fairly
Legal" review by Suzanne
Second Season Premieres Friday, March 16th 9/8c on USA Network
Fairly Legal returns Fridays at 9/8 central on USA starting
March 16th. They sent me three great episodes to review.
They make some changes this season. As you may recall, she was fired at the end
of last season. There are some problems between her and her kind-of-ex husband.
In this season, they bring in a new lawyer to the firm, played by Ryan Johnson.
He is a cute, cuddly guy, but he and Kate often disagree on things. As usual, we
get to see plenty of Kate's great assistant, Leonardo, and her step-mom Lauren.
I enjoyed the show last year, so I'm not sure why they have to make
changes...however, the new episodes are still really good and have some awesome
guest stars. I don't like the new guy Ben too much, and I don't think he has any
chemistry with Kate.
More Information: Sarah Stahl is back as Kate Reed in an all-new "Fairly Legal".
This season, Kate faces her biggest conflict to date when the sharp, hustling,
up-and-coming trial attorney Ben Grogan (new series regular Ryan Johnson) is
brought on to help save the firm on the verge of collapse. Ben's
ambulance-chasing ways represent everything Kate hates about lawyers, but their
sexual tension and chemistry is undeniable and threatens the relationships with
her same-aged stepmother Lauren Reed (Virginia Williams) and her
soon-to-be-ex-husband Justin Patrick (Michael Trucco). Caught in the middle of
it all, as always, is Kate's geek-chic assistant, Leonardo Prince (Baron
Vaughn). In this not-to-be-missed second season launch, Kate suddenly finds
herself on the other side of mediation, looking for answers and searching for
resolution in her own life. Returning guest stars this season include Gerald
McRaney as Judge Nicastro and Esai Morales as D.A. Aaron Davidson.
From Universal Cable Productions, the series is executive produced by Steve
Stark and Peter Ocko, who also serves as showrunner. Joining this season as
producer/director is USA veteran Anton Cropper.
"Satisfaction" March 16, Kate Reed returns to work after Lauren fires her and
mediates a case between a corporation and former employee whose granddaughter
claims he was exposed to harmful chemicals. Kate butts heads with trial lawyer
Ben Grogan. Mark Moses guest stars.
"Start Me Up" March 23, Justin asks Kate to negotiate a deal between the FBI and
a local hospital owner over an emergency liver transplant. The case seems simple
until Kate discovers another patient was bumped from the donor list to
accomodate the FBI. Lauren is torn between which of two clients the firm should
represent. Guest starring Mark Margolis, Barry Shabaka Henley
"Bait and Switch" March 30, Judge Nicastro orders Kate to mediate an insurance
dispute between a fishing boat Captain and a deckhand who suffered a
debilitating accident. Judge Nicastro encourages Lauren to start dating again.
Guest starring Tahmoh Penikett, Gerald McRaney.
UPDATE: The season finale of "Fairly Legal" is great. We get to
see who Kate finally chooses to be in her life. The answer may surprise you!
It's a very good episode, but parts of it are sad, I must warn you.
I have really enjoyed this season. I hope it comes back next
year, and with the same cast. Check it out this Friday, June 15th!
The Season 2 finale of Fairly Legal reaches a boiling point, who
will Kate choose?
Friday, June 15 – FAIRLY LEGAL – “Finale” - 9/8c – SEASON FINALE
Kate digs deeper when a news station fires a lesbian couple for fraternizing in
the workplace and the scandal she uncovers may involve District Attorney
Davidson. Lauren must ask a favor of the man she just dumped. Kate must choose
between Justin and Ben. Fans can ask Michael Trucco (Justin) if he was happy
with Kate’s choice live during the finale on USA’s Character Chatter.
Guest stars: Esai Morales, Lloyd Owen, Lindy Booth, Ted Atherton, Rebecca Staab
