"7 Days of Sex"
review by Suzanne
Thursdays at 10/9c on Lifetime
I'm not a big fan of reality shows, but this one is pretty
interesting. They sent me the first episode, which featured two couples, one
black and one white. The idea of the show is that these couples, even
though they have been married less than 10 years, are not terribly happy and
don't have much sex, so they need more intimacy to bring them closer together
again.
I don't really know if just having sex would fix the underlying
problems these couples have, but at least for the episode, it seemed to help.
The white couple seems to have the worst marriage. They don't have much passion,
and they bicker a lot. They seem to have nothing in common. He is very handsome
and conservative. She is more outgoing and down to earth. She embarrasses and
nags him a lot, whereas he seems too rigid and not very affectionate.
With the other couple, she seems unhappy having to take care of
their 5 children, and her husband seems to lack sympathy for her plight and is
tired of her complaining all the time. Both couples have romantic dinners
and lots of sex. They grow closer and seem to relax and open up to each other.
Having been married 30 years, it was interesting to see these
young couples work out their problems. I do think it's a good idea of couples to
continue to have lots of sex, even if they're tired or busy. However, I
have to wonder if these couples will make it past 20 years, though!
Check it out!

SEX, RELATIONSHIPS, MARRIAGE… WHAT WOMEN REALLY WANT IN AND OUT OF THE BEDROOM
IS EXPLORED IN NEW LIFETIME REALITY SERIES 7 DAYS OF SEX, PREMIERING APRIL 26
Show Reflects Women’s Attitudes about Sex, Love, And Sensuality as Couples try
to Reignite their Marriages
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 27, 2012) – What do women really want when it comes to
sex? As a new generation of women talk openly about sex, marriage and
relationships, Lifetime is at the center of this cultural conversation with the
all-new reality series 7 Days of Sex. Challenging couples to have sex for one
week straight with the hope of saving their marriage, 7 Days of Sex will
premiere on Thursday, April 26, at 10 PM ET/PT. It will lead directly into the
debut of Lifetime’s celebrity interview program The Conversation with Amanda de
Cadenet, hosted by British television personality and renowned photographer
Amanda de Cadenet.
“Lifetime is about tapping into the lives of women as they are today…bolder,
unapologetic and authentic. 7 Days of Sex is a reflection of the challenges in
our relationships -- balancing time, family, work and trying to achieve real
intimacy while being honest and true to ourselves,” said Nancy Dubuc, President
and General Manager, Lifetime Networks.
Bringing to light the major cultural shift women are currently experiencing
sexually, each episode of 7 Days of Sex will feature two couples who attempt to
make radical fixes to their troubled relationships by asking the frank question:
can a diet of daily sex help them recharge their marriage? Viewers will find out
what happens when the program follows the emotional journey wives and husbands
take together when they leave the cameras behind the closed door to explore
their own sexual intuition, imagination and creativity and have sex with each
other for seven consecutive days. Bedroom insecurities will be thrown out the
window as each couple alone tries to break away from the confines of their
ordinary routines by once again bonding physically, sharing their fantasies,
going on dates and doing special things for one another. With the goal to
reconnect emotionally and remember why they originally fell in love as their
physical intimacy and affection increase throughout the week, they’ll have a
platform from which to identify and tackle their bigger issues. Does a healthy
sex life equal a healthy marriage? Will daily sex become a chore? Or will it be
the glue that holds them together and be the long-lost key to newfound happiness
in their lives? What each couple discovers along the way may make or break their
relationship.
7 Days of Sex is produced by Shed Media US (America’s Supernanny) and executive
produced by Nick Emmerson, Jennifer O’Connell, Dan Peirson, Elizabeth Cook,
