"The Sarah Silverman Program" by Suzanne
Airing on Comedy Central Thursdays 10:30 pm
I
just watched a preview of the first two episodes of the new season of "The Sarah
Silverman Program". They were hilarious! I had watched some of her show before
and found it kinda gross and not very funny. So, to be honest, I was not looking
forward to watching these previews. I was pleasantly surprised at how hilarious
they were!
The first one, "The Proof Is in the Penis" was one of the
funniest things I've ever seen in my life. It will definitely surprise you.
Sarah thinks she's a man, so she starts acting and dressing like one - I can't
really tell you the funniest parts because that would ruin it. Also, her
gay nerdy neighbors are haunted. I love the way they pull it all together in the
end in a kind of Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Supernatural spoof.
In the second one, she
gets her own kid's show. That one was very funny as well. You just have to
see it, it's hilarious. I really enjoyed them.
I'm going to have to start watching her show regularly, now, it seems! You
should, too!

NEW YORK, January 12, 2010 – Welcome back to the wacky world of Sarah Silverman.

mayoral election, takes a stance on “Real Time with Bill Maher” and reconnects
with her imaginary childhood friend (played by Andy Samberg), among other
adventures in this irreverent new season. COMEDY CENTRAL's hit series, "The
Sarah Silverman Program," returns for a third season with 10 all-new episodes
beginning on Thursday, February 4 at 10:30 p.m. with a secondary run on Logo
beginning Tuesday, February 9 at 10:30 p.m. The new “Important Things with
Demetri Martin”/“The Sarah Silverman Program” block airs on Thursdays.
"The Sarah Silverman Program" stars the Emmy® Award winner
Silverman who plays a character (aptly named Sarah Silverman) whose absurd daily
life is told through narrative and an occasional song. In each episode, Sarah
falls into unique, unsettling and always hilarious predicaments, with her sister
(played by real-life sister Laura Silverman), her nerdy gay neighbors, Brian and
Steve (Brian Posehn and Steve Agee) and dim-witted Officer Jay (Jay Johnston)
never far from her side.
In the premiere episode, "The Proof is in the Penis," Laura
wants Sarah to “man-up” and start taking responsibilities for her life, so she
falsely informs her that she was born a hermaphrodite. Sarah
accepts her manhood and decides to move into the woods and live off of the land.
Meanwhile, Brian and Steve are haunted by Mr. Jenkins and must dig up his grave
and replace the remote that killed him in his corpse’s chest.
Emmy® winner Sarah Silverman recently received an Emmy® nomination for her role
in “The Sarah Silverman Program.” She had previously won a Primetime Emmy® in
2008 in the Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics category for a musical
collaboration with Matt Damon. Silverman will soon add author to her resume when
her book, a memoir, “The Bedwetter: Stories of Courage, Redemption and Pee,”
debuts in stores on April 20. She also recently wrapped production on the comedy
“Peep World,” opposite Rainn Wilson and Michael C. Hall. Previously, Silverman
made an impressive splash when the feature-length film version of her stage
show, "Jesus is Magic," was met with critical acclaim upon its release in 2005.
Silverman garnered rave reviews in the documentary feature "The Aristocrats," in
which she co-starred along with 100 of the industry's most prominent comedians.
She also starred opposite Jack Black, Mike White and Joan Cusack in Paramount
Picture's "The School of Rock," among others.
Laura Silverman is best known for her role in HBO’s series, “The
Comeback.” She also appeared in her sister’s film, “Jesus is Magic” as well as
“Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist.” Brian Posehn is best known for his role in
“Just Shoot Me” as well as appearances in “Seinfeld,” “Newsradio” and “Everybody
Loves Raymond.” Steve Agee also appeared in “Jesus is Magic” as well as Bobcat
Goldthwait’s film, “Sleeping Dogs Lie.” Jay Johnston can be seen in the film
“Anchorman” and appeared in the HBO television series “Curb Your Enthusiasm,”
“Mr. Show” and the FOX television series, “Malcolm in the Middle.”
Launching this month, the updated “Sarah Silverman Program” Web
site will feature exclusive video from Sarah, a digital children’s book inspired
by the upcoming new episode, “The Silverman and the Pillows,” along with episode
highlights and behind-the-scenes video from each episode from the series
blogger. Also, check-in for “rewind” clips featuring moments from previous
seasons, twitter games, events and challenges along with a branded Facebook page
with a personality quiz, among other features.
"The Sarah Silverman Program: Season Two, Volume Two" DVD is a
double disc containing all ten episodes from the second season and will hit
stores on February 9. Bonus material features animated shorts, behind-the-scenes
and audio commentary with the entire cast.
The series is based on an idea by Silverman, Dan Harmon and Rob
Schrab (Oscar-nominated “Monster House”). Silverman, Schrab, Heidi Herzon
("Jesus is Magic") and Dan Sterling (“The Daily Show”) are the executive
producers. Schrab and Sterling also serve as director of several of the
episodes. Gary Mann is the executive in charge of production for COMEDY CENTRAL.
