Primetime Show Reviews

cast of "Bionic Woman"

"Bionic Woman" Review by Suzanne 11/24/07

I've only seen a couple of episodes of this show, but so far I do like it. I'm a sucker for most scifi, though.  If you are a fan of the original series, you need to be prepared to forget about all that because this show has very little in common with the 70's show starring Lindsey Wagner.

It's like those Mission Impossible movies, or the new Battlestar Galactica. They are "reimagined" versions of the original.  In this one, Jamie Sommers is not this fresh-faced naive woman.  She is not voluntarily working for a government agency.  She's a guinea pig, and she has a psycho former-guinea pig chasing after her sometimes.

The person behind the show, David Eick, also helped created Battlestar Galactica.  However, the quality of this show doesn't match that one. Still, it's a fun and entertaining show, with a good cast and solid stories. It's a lot darker than the original show, though. More like La Femme Nikita or Alias.

I only hope the show lasts this year and more! It deserves a good chance.
