"Three Moons Over Milford" Review by Suzanne 8/26/06

Three Moons Over Milford cast

I happened to catch a sneak preview of this show on "Soapnet", a cable channel that is also owned by ABC (like ABC Family, where this show regularly airs).  I couldn't watch this show for very long because it was boring and the characters were not interesting or likable.

Some shows try too hard to be "quirky" without any kind of interesting characters or real emotion behind the writing. They want to be "Northern Exposure" or "Desperate Housewives", but this one is not even as good as "Ed".  It has soul-less, empty characters, so why should we watch, or care?

The idea behind the show is that the moon is going to split into three pieces, and one of the pieces might hit the earth, so the people in the town of Milford start acting strange in anticipation to their possible deaths.  The whole premise is ridiculous and unbelievable to begin with, and the show makes no attempt to explain it.  Why does the show focus on one town? I have no idea. And I'm not going to keep tuning in to find out.
