"Father of the Pride"
Review by Suzanne 9/15/04
The best thing I can say about this show is that the animation is not bad.
Then again, I am not a big fan of that CGI-type animation. "Shrek" and
"Toy Story" are the only ones I like.
The minimum requirement for a comedy of any kind is that it should be funny.
This one does not meet that requirement, at least for me. I would hate to
meet the people that do find it funny. Maybe some 12-year-olds would like
it. Very stupid 12-year-olds, the type that think every single episode of
"The Simpsons" is a classic.
I missed the first episode, but the basic idea is that animals in Las Vegas
really live like people and have their own houses and lives. They also
show Siegfried and Roy a lot.
The only parts that were remotely funny were when they showed Siegfried and
Roy. They should forget about the animals and just focus on their antics.
My husband, however, thought it was a bit creepy, considering that Roy has been
recovering from a serious accident for the past year, to have him running around
in the cartoon like it's no big deal. I have kind of a sick sense of humor
so it didn't bother me.
This one has been panned by everyone so I don't expect it to last very long.
I feel bad for some of the great actors in the show, like John Goodman and Carl
Reiner.
