Don't
forget that it's
Shark Week on Discovery Channel!
We spent last weekend still catching up on the comedy news
shows from the past week or so... I was out of town for ten
days, and it's been SO hard catching up since then! I don't
have a lot to talk about because Summer is not my big time
for watching TV. It's time for traveling and having fun....
A lot of my friends and family live in San Diego, so they
go to the San
Diego Comic-Con every year! I haven't been to it in a
long time, but I still miss going. Maybe one day I'll get to
go again. We'll have photos from that event because some of
our volunteers go to it
and take
exclusive photos for our site every year!
As always, I worked on our
Primetime News and Schedule
page each weekend.
Angie sends me the basic network blurbs, and then I
put in more from my emails and from others I find at tvguide.com, and then I find all of the trailers, sneak
peeks, previews and video clips for the shows that I can
find... This
week's page is here, and
next week's
is here (check back because I do that page on
Saturdays).
I was watching "Bold & The Beautiful" because of the
transgender storyline, but now I give up because there is
not enough of that and too much of the triangle with the
same old people, Ivy/Liam/Steffy/Wyatt. The only person
that's different is Ivy, and she's no Hope. I watched
earlier this week, only because I read that Fred Willard would be appearing
again. He's always great. I got to
interview him
and Kevin Nealon once on the
phone (they were
hilarious!) and I also met him in person once
in 1995 when he came to my town for a fund raiser (I didn't
get a photo, unfortunately!).
The only interesting thing this past week was Aly going
crazy again, but it came out of the blue, since they
supposedly cured her problems last year. Of course, that was
way too pat and too quick, but it might have been helpful if
they'd explained why she has or hasn't been going to a
psychiatrist and/or getting medication for her problems. I
mean, these are rich people in L.A. -- they go to therapy at
the
drop of a hat there. It makes no sense that Aly wouldn't
be already getting help. I realize that it would make a
boring show if everyone's all healthy and sane, but then
that's why they have to give us a very good reason why she's
gone bonkers again. Not to mention, Pam had her own
mental problems and is on medication, so they're all very
familiar with this sort of thing. It makes no sense.
Also, they keep doing the same crazy-girl stories over and
over. Last time it was Quinn. Enough already.
We still could really use someone to help us write "Young
& The Restless"
updates occasionally when our regular writers can't do it.
Please
email me if you can help out!
I finally caught up with "Defiance" last week. It's such
a good show. I love the stories that twist and turn, and the
acting, and the relationships. I also caught up on "Beauty & The Beast," which
is a fun show.
Don't forget that you can see all of the new stuff we've
put up every day on our
What's New Page!
I have a whole list of new shows to watch and
review for our
site. It's so easy to get behind on these reviews! Tonight
I'm watching a bunch of shows that premiered recently, like
"Zoo," "The Astronaut Wives Club," "Complications," "Proof"
and others. Then I'll write it up for the site.
I'm enjoying "Royal Pains" as always. I'm so sad that
it's on its last season. I love Boris and will miss him. I
have a great cactus, very prickly, and I named it after him!
Like him, it's very attractive ;)
This summer I'm also keeping up with "The Whispers,"
"Major Crimes" and "Rizzoli & Isles." I'm a little behind on
"Unreal," "Wayward Pines," and "Mr. Robot," but not too bad,
so I'll be catching up on them soon.
I hope you had a nice Fourth of July! I didn't really
watch much TV during
the holiday, but I know they had lots
of fireworks celebrations, and lots of music. Here's
something I didn't know. Apparently CBS used to air the
Boston Pops Fourth of July concert, but in 2012 CBS decided
to stop showing it, due to low ratings. You can now
watch it online, and locally on TV still, of course, if you
live in Boston.
For years I've been on
Twitter and
Facebook, but I
finally joined
Instagram
(my account is a personal one, not about TV). It's fun to
take lots of pretty photos. Lots of celebrities are on
there, like on the other two. They post
tons of great
photos. I enjoyed seeing all the fireworks photos and videos!
What new shows are you watching this summer?
