Eden Baldwin
Played By Jessica Heap
Written By Darlene
on January 23, 2013
When Michael Baldwin went to an ashram to attend his brother Kevin's wedding,
he met his biological father, River, and learned he had a half-sister, Eden.
Both River and Eden followed Michael to Genoa City. Eden made no secret of her
dislike for city living, and she desperately wanted to go back to the ashram
with her father. River was wanted by the police, who quickly caught up with
him. Eden was devastated but agreed to stay with Michael and his wife, Lauren.
At first, Eden and Noah Newman pretended to dislike each other, but
eventually a romance brewed in spite of the fact that their families didn't
approve of their choices. Eden received a bogus letter from long-lost relatives
in Paris. She and Noah moved there to find there were no relatives. Daisy
Carter had sent the letter to get Eden out of Genoa City. Noah returned to
Genoa City without Eden but gave no explanation for their break-up. Later, it
was learned that Eden was in rehab for an eating disorder. After her stint
there, she returned to Genoa City instead of Paris.
Though tempted, Eden and Noah did not rekindle their romance but remained
friends. Eden got a job at Crimson Lights and met Ricky Williams. The two hit
it off and became roommates until Eden became suspicious of Ricky's motives for
living in Genoa City and forming a bond with his biological father, Paul
Williams. Ricky worked for Restless Style and was asked by Phyllis Romalotti to
get close to Daisy Carter, the mother of her granddaughter. Unaware of this,
Eden believed Ricky was cheating on her with Daisy. Ricky moved into Daisy's
old apartment when she left town.
When Daisy couldn't be found, Eden became suspicious of Ricky again and did
her own investigating. She went to Ricky's apartment and pretended to be there
to hang out. She found Daisy's belongings and planned to go to the police, but
Ricky caught her and threatened to kill her. Ricky shoved Eden into the
bathroom where she hit her head on the bathtub. Paul Williams arrived and
argued with Ricky. Paul found Eden in the bathroom and had to shoot Ricky to
keep him from killing Eden. Ricky staggered back from the shot and fell out the
window, causing his death.
Eden could not exonerate Paul because she had no memory of what happened that
night. Paul didn't push Eden but his daughter, Heather Stevens, convinced Eden
to be hypnotized. Michael and Eden's boyfriend, Kyle Abbott didn't approve of
this, but Eden said she would do anything to help Paul. She remembered nothing
during hypnosis but bits of her memory began to return on their own. It still
wasn't enough to help Paul but Michael, the district attorney, eventually
dropped the charges, knowing Paul was innocent.
