Maxie: All Elizabeth did was sit there and snarked about how I don't understand Matt and I don't appreciate him and he deserves so much better than me. Whatever.
Spinelli: Wouldn't that decision be up to Maximista's man-friend?
Maxie: There is no decision. Matt's already mine. He knows what I bring to the table. Look, I am the woman behind the man. The girlfriend behind the guy who's made huge medical strides doing whatever it is that he was doing to get published. None of this would have happened if he was with some desperate, clingy girl like Elizabeth. You know, I bet she expects her man to be with her every waking hour of the day. I gave Matt the space that he needed to get his research done. I mean, is it too much to ask for him to support me in return? I'm also doing him a huge favor by getting him on the pages of Crimson. I mean, seriously? Who's gonna read some dusty, old medical journal other than dusty, old doctors? Crimson will give him the exposure that he needs. I mean, this is Matt's big chance to get the fame that he deserves.
Spinelli: Raise Maximista's profile, as well.
Maxie: Well, yes, there's that, but, I mean, I spent a lot of time working for Kate and working for Crimson. I've earned it. I mean, I deserve this time in the spotlight. So we need to get off this dark, depressing rock and get onto that yacht, okay? A.S.A.P.
Spinelli: This place may not be as deserted as we think.
Maxie: Of course it's deserted. Nikolas packed up and took his life to wherever -- another casualty of Elizabeth's victim act. You know, I was with Matt before he was on the verge of his medical breakthrough. I mean, he was just a regular guy. I mean, he was a brain surgeon, of course, but who's counting? Of course Elizabeth wants to be with him now that he's a soon-to-be-famous doctor. She just wants to latch on to his rising star. She probably thinks she never has to work another day in her life.
Spinelli: It's fading.
Maxie: Elizabeth completely ruined Lucky's life and Nikolas'. Jason barely escaped. I am not gonna let her trample all over Matt.
