Elizabeth: Since Jake's death, I've had a really hard time understanding how
life just goes on. People continue on with their business and living their
lives. But then I realized despite my pain, the days and the hours keep ticking
by, and Cameron and Aiden need me. Patients at the hospital need me.
Nikolas: Lucky needs you.
Elizabeth: And Lucky. Not only does he have to deal with losing his son, he has
to live with the fact that Luke is the one who hit Jake.
Nikolas: Yeah.
Elizabeth: You know, he blames himself for leaving the boys with me when it was
his night to have them. Which is so wrong because I'm the one who let Jake slip
out the front door.
Nikolas: Don't do that. You're not the one to blame here, ok. It was an
accident. It could happen to any parent.
Elizabeth: I'm really worried about Lucky. And I know the relationship between
the two of you has been strained, but he needs you. And he loves you even though
he can't say it.
Nikolas: I know. I've already been to see him. It was good. Treated me like his
brother.
