Patrick: I operated on a child. I left him brain dead, on life support. Hour later, it's all cleaned up, ready for the next patient. How does that make sense?

Robin: It doesn't.

Patrick: I'm trained to handle worst case scenarios. I think fast on my feet and make the best decisions.

Robin: Patrick, you did all of that.

Patrick: Then why didn't it work?

Robin: He was already too hurt. He was too hurt for anyone to save, you know, even you. [Sighs]

Patrick: Then why are you apologizing?

Robin: I'm just so sorry for what I've done to you and to our family. I've held on to your betrayal so tightly that it's tearing us apart.

Patrick: You had the right.

Robin: You've been apologizing to me for months. You know, the least I could have done was meet you halfway. Because...I love you. And I know that you love me. And if it was Emma that had died on the table tonight, I mean, I just...I couldn't have forgiven myself for all this time that I've wasted. So I'm really sorry.

Patrick: It's amazing what we take for granted. Somebody loses a kid and it puts it into perspective, doesn't it?

Robin: Yeah.

Patrick: Well, will you kiss that beautiful little girl good night for me?

Robin: Hey. Why don't you kiss her good night? Will you come home? Please? I've already wasted too much time as it is.

Patrick: Are you sure?

Robin: The happiest I have ever been is when you and me and Emma were a family. I want that again. Please. I miss you.

[Elevator dings and opens]

Patrick: Let's go home.

Jason: Your brother said that you and Lucky were discussing donating Jake's organs. And if... you and Lucky would agree to let Josslyn have one of Jake's kidneys, it could save her life.

Elizabeth: You selfish bastard! You chose not to parent Jake, just like you chose not to be with me. You walked away and you never looked back. Lucky and I have raised Jake. We're the ones with the hole left in our lives. You don't even know him.

Jason: I gave Jake up because I--

Elizabeth: And now you want to give away his organs? There is no way in hell you are using my son for spare parts.

Lucky: Why does everyone keep talking, then?

Luke: Well, probably because it's easier for them to say something than nothing.

Lucky: That makes sense. You know, Dad, Jake, there was something about that kid. He was absolutely fearless. Absolutely fearless. And I used to think that he got that from me.

Luke: When a child dies like this, so brutally and unnecessarily, I really don't think there's a way back from that pain, Lucky. I think you're going to have to learn to live with it.

Lucky: What happens if I can't?

Luke: You are a good man, Lucky. I've always admired your ability. Your gift to love so fully and so open-heartedly. You give everything you have. And that ability has enriched your life in ways that mine will never be. I'm proud of you. I'm proud that you took on those two kids when you could have easily turned your back on them.

Lucky: You know, ultimately it's your fault that I took those boys in. Because you made being a father look like so much fun. I just couldn't resist. I wanted to know what that felt like. I wanted to-- I wanted to be on the other side of things. I just, I never knew it was possible to love that much. [Crying]
