Diane: Is there any update on the wrongful death lawsuit against Brenda Barrett and Dante Falconeri?

Theo: No one disputes the fact that Brenda fired the shot that killed Anton Banovic. What remains in question is her motive, and her mental state.

Diane: I just don't see how it could be all that difficult not to support her claim of self defense. I mean, why would she shoot at a man if he wasn't threatening her?

Theo: Dante Falconeri, who happens to be the son of a mobster. Your mobster. Who happens to be engaged to Brenda Barrett. Believe me, none of this will escape plaintiff's counsel.

Diane: Well, it sounds horrible when you put it that way.

Spinelli: An allergy to dust is not a crime. I assure you the Jackal's hygiene is above reproach.

Theo: This is precisely the sort of insensitivity that spreads disease and launches pandemics.

Diane: Theo, really, no harm, no foul.

Theo: The world is fraught with unseen dangers.

Spinelli: Well, then perhaps the bald bloviator should retreat to his antiseptic bubble.

Spinelli: Ah! Ah! The Jackal is grateful to the brusque lady of justice for agreeing to meet. You must be exhausted after having to accommodate the bombastic braggart.

Diane: Theo Hoffman is brilliant and eccentric, qualities which I would think you would appreciate.

Spinelli: Well, surely there's no resemblance...

Diane: Stop that.
