Taylor: Well, don't know how you could do that, unless you were to say it didn't happen.
Stephanie: You remember how hard you and I fought for the two of them not to work together on the Taboo line, because we knew exactly where it was headed?
Ridge: Yes, I'm sorry. I know. I should have listened.
Stephanie: Well, that's what set everything in motion. You know, consciously or uncon... I convinced him to say they had sex.
Ridge: Wait, I don't understand. You mean, you're the one who convinced him to step forward.
Stephanie: No, I convinced him to lie. But I mean, it's not as though I convinced him to say something that was highly improbable. I mean, it's-- it's hardly a lie.
Ridge: You mean, you... you and Brooke didn't...
Stephanie: No. Brooke and Tom didn't... didn't sleep together. You know when something's bad -- but you do it anyway? I feel so much better. I'm sure you do, too. And I-I-I'm sorry I caused such strife. Well-- shall we get back to it?
Ridge: Get back to what?
Stephanie: Well, we're gonna continue the wedding.
Ridge: Thomas, is this true?
Thomas: Yes.
Ridge: Nothing happened?
Stephanie: Well, maybe. I mean, he doesn't really remember. I mean, neither one of them actually remembers what--
Thomas: Our clothes were on. Okay? Nothing happened.
Ridge: Didn't have sex?
Stephanie: Don't be angry with him, because I'm the one that convinced him. Ridge, I convinced him to lie.
Ridge: You came to me, tears on your face, told me you remembered. You looked in my eyes and said that everything came back to you. It was clear. No question at all about it. What? You were just acting? It was all a lie? Answer me!
Thomas: Yes. Yes. I lied.
Ridge: Why?
Stephanie: Okay, uh, well, they didn't have sex, but they certainly crossed the line. I mean, they kissed lots of times, and look, everybody knows Brooke has no decency when it comes to this.
Ridge: Brooke has no decency?!
Stephanie: All right, let's not overreact. You're with this
beautiful woman, the mother of your children... the epitome of everything that's good and decent in this world. You're certainly not-- I mean, she has nothing to do with our lie. You're not going to punish Taylor. The fact that Brooke and Tom did not have sex shouldn't change anything. Ridge. Ridge, you have peace and harmony with Taylor. She complements exactly who you are. I couldn't let you start this marriage with lies and secrets. I couldn't let that happen so that it would end up hurting you down the road. I'm sorry. I-I'm sorry. I'm sorry, and I'm ashamed that I let it go this far. I'm just-- but that shouldn't change the wedding.
