As I have mentioned in my last few articles, I have been
re-watching AMC episodes on SOAPnet. For those of you not
watching or recording, they are re-showing the storyline for
the Satin Slayer Murders. I liked that story the first time
around and have noticed a few things now that I am watching
it again.
- I did not care for how they brought Josh into the
show (some call him the un-abortion), but once he was
there and he was less focused on Babe, Babe, Babe! I
came to appreciate his relationship with his mother
(Erica) and his sisters (Kendall and Bianca). I also
liked the time when he went to work for Zach, how close
the two of them became. How he was there for Zach after
she prematurely delivered Ian. I thought his departure
from the show was just as bad or even worse as his
entrance. How he swindled Zach and than ran off.
Eventually returning only to be shot by Zach and become
the heart donor to his sister Kendall.
- How many people were affected by the murders. Del,
Di, Amanda, the Chandlers, the Martins, Ryan, Jonathan
to name some.
- I understand why they pretended Babe was dead to
both protect her and to try and catch the Satin Slayer,
but to put KWAK through that misery was not right,
especially when she was pregnant. She could have lost
the baby from the stress.
- Babe like Dixie got to “die” multiple times and come
back.
- How many of the characters were gone from the show
either having been written out or dying. Aiden, Di, Del,
Jonathan, Julia, Jamie, Josh, Zarf, Sean, Lily,
Danielle.
- I know Greenlee took off from PV angry and gave her
shares to Babe, but Jack never mentions her or if she
contacted anyone about her friends being killed.
- While JR is a “tool” many times, it was horrible for
him to “lose” his mother and his wife in the same week.
I guess now while he thinks Babe is dead, he does not
have to worry about a divorce or custody battle with
her.
- If I had to choose two more story arcs to show on
SOAPnet, I would pick the whole Michael Cambias story
beginning with him meeting Kendall through the trial.
The second would be Zach and Greenlee trapped in the
mine shaft and all of the stories going on when it was
happening.
