Jeffrey Byron, who's no stranger to soaps, will soon be appearing on The Bold and the Beautiful as Chuck Williams -- a financial advisor and an old friend of Ridge's. Byron comes from an illustrious soap opera family – his mother, Anna Lee, has portrayed General Hospital's legendary matriarch Lila Quartermaine since 1978. A soap opera vet himself, Jeffrey has played Dr. Mark Boardman on Port Charles, Dr. Jeff Martin on All My Children and Richard Abbott on One Life to Live. He is hardly a novice to the B&B set either, having played the role of a lawyer named Gregory Danforth back in 1987. "I thoroughly love that [B&B] cast, they're such great people," Jeffrey enthuses. The actor shares his mother's sense of professionalism and values a particular piece of advice she gave him regarding acting -- it is extremely important to be prepared. "I always get reports back when she's working on her show, that here she is, now just turned 89 and she rarely, if ever, drops a line and knows her stuff backwards and forwards," Jeffrey proudly notes. "I think it's a pretty amazing testament to her and her great work ethic." He has certainly taken her advice to heart and on one occasion he researched his role as a blind person by going to the Braille Institute and working with an instructor to really understand what it's like to be blind. Watch for Jeffrey Byron to make his B&B debut as Chuck Williams in late January. |
