"Medium"
Review by Boo 5/22/05

Patricia Arquette stars in NBC's new crime series as a medium that
helps the police department and the D.A.'s office solve crimes and
gather evidence. The show not only follows her work with the D.A.'s
office but also follows the home life of a person that is gifted
with "the sight". Each week we see Allison Dubois (Arquette) wake
from a dream that haunts her. The dreams tie in with a case that the
D.A. is working on. She is able to talk to the dead, who help her
solve the case each week. We also see her husband and children
struggle to understand and support her as she struggles to understand
and get a grip on this rare talent.
If you watch the show for pure entertainment, you won't be
disappointed. You have to have a very open mind to truly believe that
Allison actually sees dead people and talks to them. Patricia does a
wonderful job in helping you to do that, though. I do believe in
psychics, but I don't believe that this show is based on reality. At
least, not in the way that Allison gets her information.
The show is fictional, but it is loosely based on the supposed real-life
psychic Allison, so you have to decide which parts are real or not.
I really like this show. I don't think that it will have a long run,
though. I think it will only last for 2 or 3 seasons, but I will be
sorry to see it go.
