Ashley is not really interested in anything Diane has to say. Diane insists it is important. Diane tells Ashley that Victor is using her. He is playing her for a fool; all of this has been about revenge, against Jack. He wants to take down Jabot. (Ashley looks stunned)
Jack comes in; John asks him what’s wrong? Jack says nothing, it’s just Jill, getting on his nerves. John says he knows there is something going on and wants to know what it is.
Neil and Bryan Forsythe are talking. Forsythe says he thinks the meeting went well. Neil says everything was almost ruined because if Jack seen them together at Gina’s, he would have known something was going on. Neil says nothing must derail this plan.
Nikki asks Victor if something is wrong? He says he is sorry he didn’t get the chance to tear Gary Dawson limb from limb. Nick says he saw Gary when he was arrested, he just looked pathetic. Victor says he wasn’t there, so he can’t be that generous. The doctor comes out of Victoria’s room and says he is keeping her in over night, she is dehydrated and he has given her a sedative so she will sleep through the night. Nikki thanks him and after he is gone, sees no reason in staying. She asks if anyone wants to join her at Gina’s? Victor says he has something he needs to take care of. Nick says he needs to go to the coffee house. Nikki leaves. Sharon goes with her to use the phone. Nick peeks in on Victoria; he says she is out like a light. He tells Victor he is going now. Victor asks him to wait. He apologizes for his earlier remark but he is very protective of his daughter. Victor says he wants to discuss something with him, and it really does need to be discussed.
Ryan doesn’t feel taking Tricia to London is the answer. Keith says he wants to spend time with Tricia. Ryan feels her place is here with him. Keith says he is trying to help her. He thinks a few months alone will do Ryan good. Ryan says they are married, he (Keith) was married and had a father in law, and Ryan wants him to see things from his point of view. Keith says he can’t he would never have done what he (Ryan) has done. Ryan asks for some time alone with his wife, before they leave. Keith says perhaps they can come to some understanding; maybe she will go to Seattle with him. Keith says to tell Tricia he will be back in an hour. (He leaves.)
Tricia comes back from packing and asks where her father is? Ryan says he wanted some time alone with her. Or did she just want to pack her stuff and go? Tricia asks him not to do this; she is leaving because it is best for all of them. She needs time to get her head together. Ryan asks about their marriage? She says she doesn’t know, she is a mess and she is worried she is dragging him down. Ryan says he know she feels she hasn’t been a good wife, but she is wrong. Tricia says they haven’t been happy for a long time, because of her. She knows she has caused the people she loves a great deal of pain. Ryan says running away won’t help. Tricia says she can’t stay there, she would feel like a failure, as a wife, a sister. Ryan can’t believe she wants to give up on their marriage. She is not a failure. She says a lot of their problems have been because of her. He says running away with her father won’t solve anything. She says it is the only solution she has. Ryan wants her to come to Seattle with him not go to London with her father. She has to make a decision and she has to make it now!
Brad comes in, he tells Gina all this business with Victoria is terrible but at least it is over and she is safe. Gina is surprised to see him as she thought he was leaving town. Brad says he stayed for an opportunity. Gina asks if it worked out? Brad says it didn’t.
Nikki arrives; she sees Brad and goes to sit with him. He tells her he is relieved to hear Victoria is all right. Nikki says it was a miracle. He says he would have called but under the circumstances, didn’t feel it was appropriate. She understands and knows he would be there for her if she needed him. He says he may not be for too much longer. She asks if he is thinking about leaving? She wonders about their partnership? He says their partnership wouldn’t work because they have two different ideas as to what that means. He thinks they should just call it a day. Nikki says they can be so good together. She asks if he will stay until this JABOT business is settled? He really isn’t interested in working with Jack; he would always be out to get him (Brad.) Even if they did put in $70 million, what do they get out of it? To walk into an armed camp. Brad says to forget about it. Nikki says if he would just see things her way, then it would be good. Brad says they are at a standoff.
Ashley tells Diane she thinks she is a vicious lying bitch! Diane says at least she got her attention. Ashley would love to rip Diane apart but she won’t stoop to her level. Diane explains she overheard Neil and Victor talking about JABOT, bringing it to its knees. Ashley doesn’t believe her. Diane says it is classic Victor; he has never given up on his idea of revenge against Jack for the takeover. Ashley says Diane has no idea what she is talking about. Diane says she knows about the loan due in May, they planned it from the beginning. Neil, Victor and Forsythe. Does that name ring a bell? (Ashley looks shaken.) Ashley says she knows Diane is a bitter woman. Diane makes Ashley sick! (Ashley walks out.) She leans on Connie’s desk and sees a message from Forsythe “Meeting with Jack Abbott went well, fell for it hook, line and sinker.”
John tells Jack he knows about the balloon payment. Jack says it is taken care of. John asks where he got $70 million? Jack says an extension has been arranged and John doesn’t need to worry about it. John is upset that Jack didn’t tell him what was going on, he is Chairman of the board. Jack was concerned he lost the company once already; he didn’t want to lose it again. John says he had the right to know. John tells Jack there isn’t anything they can’t talk about. Jack asks for his father’s forgiveness. John says there is nothing to forgive. John leaves for his meeting in New York.
Nina and Tomas have finished dinner. Nina appears lost in thought. Tomas asks if she is thinking about Ryan? She says she is. He suggests calling Ryan. Nina says she doesn’t know what good it will do. Besides, she says, it’s just you and me here. Tomas kisses Nina. Nina asks Tomas if he would like more wine? He agrees so she goes to get it. He finds her manuscript. She says she has written 50 pages of an outline, well-written plot and characters. He asks why she hasn’t shown it to him? She says she wasn’t ready. She asks him what they were doing before she left? He reminds her by kissing her. Tomas asks if Philip will be home soon? Nina says he should be home in about ½ an hour. He wonders if he should be gone before Philip comes home? Nina says maybe it would be a good idea. The door opens, Philip comes in. Nina is surprised to see him so early. Philip says the movie was awful so they walked out. Tomas says hello to Philip. Tomas asks Nina if she thinks he should leave? Nina says no, it would look strange to Philip if he left now.
Forsythe tells Neil about Wyoming, how it is God’s country but every time he comes to the city, he feels he is missing something. Neil says if things go right, this could be his new office.
Malcolm arrives; Neil introduces him to Forsythe and then says they are busy. Malcolm offers to come back later. Forsythe says he will go to the commissary and get something to eat. Neil says he will page him as soon as he hears from Victor.
Forsythe leaves. Malcolm tells Neil he went to Paris, to see Dru. Neil can’t believe it! Malcolm says he went because he had to. There was so much unresolved between Neil and Dru. Neil is upset that Malcolm is interfering in this. Neil asks Malcolm if Dru said she wanted their relationship? Malcolm says not in so many words. Neil “I thought so, just forget it!” Malcolm won’t forget it. Malcolm says Neil got to Dru. When she came home and then went back, she couldn’t forget about him. Neil says Malcolm’s trip to Paris was a waste of time and as far as he is concerned, Dru can stay in Paris! (He opens the door, Dru is standing there) Dru “Hello Neil, surprised to see me?”
Nick asks what it is his father wants to talk about? Victor asks if he will be at the office tomorrow? Nick says he will. Nick tells him his job is important to him. Victor asks which job? Nick says none of his duties have been neglected. Victor asks if he will stop by his office tomorrow? Nick agrees but says they can talk about it now if he wants? Victor says no, tomorrow is fine. Victor leaves. Sharon passes him on the way out and says good night. She asks Nick if something is wrong? He says he isn’t sure but will find out tomorrow. Nick and Sharon leave.
Nikki asks Brad when he will be leaving? He says in a couple of weeks. His cell phone rings. Ashley asks Brad to come by the JABOT boardroom; she needs to talk to him. Brad isn’t sure he wants to go. She says it is important. He agrees to come. She asks for Nikki’s cell phone number? Brad tells her Nikki is with him. Ashley asks him to convince her to come. Brad hangs up. Nikki “What’s going on?” Brad “I don’t know and I am not sure I want to.”
and Nick get coffee, talk about the expansion and how exciting it all is.
Sharon is concerned about Victor and his reaction to all of this. Nick
says Victor is only happy when things go his way. Sharon says she hopes Victor
doesn’t over react to the news of the expansion. Nick says they will make it
one-way or the other. She is both happy and worried too. Nick says he is happy
too and relieved this whole thing with Victoria is over “I am glad the right
man is behind bars.”
Diane is sitting, waiting. Victor comes in. She tells him she was relieved to hear the news of Victoria’s safe return. She wanted to know if there was anything she could do to help? He thanks her for her concern but says everything is fine. She is about to leave; he asks how long she has been alone for? She says she is not sure, why? He asks if she ran into Ashley?
Ashley comes in looking pale and dejected. Jack asks if she is all right? He asks if it is the baby? She says no, she is fine and so is the baby. She says she can’t find the words to tell him. “It’s all my fault.” “We have been horribly, horribly, tricked.” “And it is all my fault!” (She cries.)
