Tabitha’s Thanksgiving from Hell dinner is over, but
the fireworks are still going as strong as ever. Luis and Martin are still
fighting, Paloma and Pilar are still arguing over whether Mom loved daughter or
not, Sheridan is still trying to get the fighting to stop, and Tabitha is out in
the foyer chortling over her triumph and telling Endora how proud she is of her
little witch-ling for all the trouble she managed to stir up. “Nothing like the
holidays to warm the heart and boil the blood!”, she says. In the dining room,
the fighting continues, with names being tossed at each other. Luis tells Martin
how upset he is that he left the family to fend for itself and Pilar to struggle
to take care of the kids while he was down in Mexico living it up with his
mistress. Sheridan tells him to stop, Katherine tells him to listen to Sheridan,
Pilar tells her not to talk to her son that way and calls her a whore, and
Paloma tells her mother not to say bad things to Mrs. Wheeler because she’s a
good woman. Pilar takes umbrage at that, telling her that a good woman wouldn’t
take a man away from his husband and a father away from his family. Paloma asks
what that makes her since she abandoned her daughter. In another room, Beth is
trying to quiet Marty and Kay and Simone are trying to quiet Maria, both of whom
are crying from the arguing they are hearing and watching. Tabitha, on the other
hand, is having a ball, and so is little Endora. They are enjoying the fighting.
Kay asks Tabitha if this is what she wanted to happen, and Tabitha says yes, she
hasn’t had so much fun since the Chicago fire. Kay walks into the dining room
and yells for everyone to stop because it’s Thanksgiving, and Tabitha chuckles
and calls it the Thanksgiving from Hell.
In the hospital, Fox tells Ivy that Whitney isn’t lying, the baby is his. She tells him she wants to be sure of that, and he says he is sure. Chad tells him if it is he’d better be there for her, support her, and Fox shoots back that of course he is going to, he’s going to marry her. Julian walks in, asking why they are all there, and asks if Chad is ok. He says he is, and Fox says he’s fine too, thanks for asking. Ivy moves over to face Julian and says she assumes he’s there to see Eve. He says yes, then she tells him that Eve is a little busy examining Whitney. He asks if she’s sick, and Ivy says no, she’s pregnant. In the exam room, Eve says it can’t be possible, but Whitney says yes, it is, she’s pregnant with her half-brother’s baby. She blames her mother for never telling her she had a half-brother, that had she known there was a sibling out there she could have been more careful about who she got involved with, but now, because of her mother, her life is not only ruined, but her baby is going to be a freak. The arguing continues in Tabitha’s dining room. Kay yells again for them to stop fighting, telling them this is Paloma’s first Thanksgiving and they should be thinking about making it a happy time for her, but instead they have turned it into WWIII. She tells them to think of the babies, Luis’ son Marty and her daughter with Miguel, Maria, and how they are scaring them with all the yelling and fighting. She asks what kind of example they are setting for them, and if this is the memory they want to have of Thanksgiving. They all stop and look remorseful, realizing Kay is right. Luis walks to Marty and takes him from Beth, trying to calm him down, and Martin wants to hold Maria, but Pilar tells him she will hold her, since she knows her grandma. They calm the babies down, and Katherine pulls Martin into another room, asking if he’s all right. He tells her if he’d known Luis and Pilar were going to be there, he wouldn’t have come because he knows how much they hate him. He says if he were in their shoes he would feel the same way, but that doesn’t make it hurt any less. Katherine agrees, saying she’s sorry for all the horrible things they’ve said about him. He says he’s sorry for what they’ve said about her, but she tells him Pilar has a right to be angry with her. She says what hurts her is the look of betrayal in Sheridan’s eyes, that she’s no longer the kind Mrs. Wheeler, but the whore to took Luis’ father away. He tells her not to say that because it‘s not true, but she says why not, it’s what she believes. She wishes she could just tell Sheridan the truth, why they had to leave, that Alistair abused her and tried to kill her and they were forced to leave, and then maybe Sheridan would forgive her. He tells her she can’t tell Sheridan, that he agrees with Alistair on that point. He says that to Luis she is that woman who stole his father away, and if Sheridan knew Katherine was her mother she would have to choose sides and Luis would never forgive her for choosing Katherine over him. She agrees that she cannot let that happen, she won’t ruin Sheridan’s chance at happiness with Luis. He says as long as Sheridan doesn’t know she’s her mother, everything will be ok.
In the dining room, Martin is still crying. Luis asks why he cries so much, and Beth tells him he just cries a lot and sometimes it takes 10 or 15 minutes for him to stop. Sheridan asks if she can hold him, and Luis hands him to her. He immediately stops crying and starts playing. Luis is astonished and jokingly asks if they have a connection or something. Beth’s phone rings and she goes to answer it. It is her mother, and Beth tells her she shouldn’t be bothering her since it’s Thanksgiving. The conversation is from Beth’s side only, but her answers make it clear that Edna is asking whether Sheridan has seen Marty or not. Beth says she has, then tells her she’s sorry to burst her bubble but nothing happened, she didn’t recognize him or anything. In the dining room, Marty is playing with Sheridan, and very happy. Beth tells her mother that Sheridan isn’t going to have a chance to find out Marty is hers because she and Luis aren’t going to be together much longer once she finds out the secrets in Mrs. Wheeler’s past. She tells her mother there is a connection between the two causing Sheridan to feel close to the woman, and she will find out what the reason for that is. She tells her mother to stick another turkey leg in her mouth and stop talking. She hangs up and wonders out loud about all the strange things about Mrs. Wheeler, saying she is going to find out what her connection to Sheridan is.
Whitney chides Eve for not telling her she had a son out there. Eve tells her there was no reason to tell her anything since the hospital told her the baby had died and she had only recently found out that was a lie and that Chad was her son. Whitney doesn’t believe her, telling her she has an excuse for everything, and that she is sick of her lies. She says her baby is the result of all Eve’s lies, that they have ruined her life, and Chad’s, and now the life of her grandchild. (commercial)
Everyone is leaving the dinner at Tabitha’s, and as Pilar is leaving, she thanks the woman for inviting them and trying to give them a happy Thanksgiving. Tabitha says all it did was cause pain and heartache, then says “Who knew?” Pilar tells her thanks, anyway, and walks away. Kay tells Tabitha that she knew it would be a bad time for them, that she deliberately set them all up, and Tabitha tells her she deliberately calmed them all down with her little guilt speech, calling her a party pooper. Pilar apologizes to Paloma about all the angry words, then says maybe they can go to the Book Café sometime and talk over coffee or something. Paloma tells her she doesn’t want to talk. Pilar says she’s her mother, but Paloma shoots back that Mrs. Wheeler has been more of a mother to her than Pilar has ever been. She walks away, leaving Pilar calling her name. Sheridan sees this and walks over to Pilar telling her maybe tonight isn’t the time to try to work it out. Pilar tells her that Paloma hates her, but Sheridan disagrees. Pilar says she thinks she’s a horrible person and says to see that look of hate from your own daughter is like knife in her heart. Katherine, getting their coats to leave, sees what is going on and goes to Paloma, telling her to go talk to her mother, that she loves her very much. Paloma refuses, saying she will never make amends. Tabitha comes over and asks if they are leaving and they say yes, they need to get home, then thank her for inviting them as they leave. Kay stops Paloma and tells her that she and Simone are going to take Maria for a walk and asks if she wants to come with them, saying they can stop along the way for coffee or something. Paloma, noticing that her mother is watching, tells the girls she’d love to get coffee, looking at Pilar to make sure she heard, then tells her she has to change clothes first. Kay agrees, then they walk out of the house as Pilar watches. Luis tells Pilar they are ready to go, but Pilar wants to stay and help Tabitha clean. The older woman tells her now, she doesn’t need help, but Pilar tells her she wants to help anyway. Luis tells her she should go get some rest, but she says she’d rather stay and clean than go sit in her room alone. She kisses Marty good bye, then tells Luis to learn from her mistake and hold on to Sheridan no matter what. He tells her he will, and then he, Sheridan, Beth, and Marty leave. Pilar starts to clear the table as Tabitha talks to Endora about how Beth is going to head home and start searching for information about Mrs. Wheeler on the computer, and all hell will break loose then.
In the hospital, Julian asks Chad if it’s possible he’s the father of Whitney’s child, and Chad tells him it is since he was sleeping with her before they found out they were brother and sister. Fox tells them to relax because Whitney already told him the baby is his and the only reason they are there now is because Ivy insisted she come in and be checked out. Julian asks if Whitney is sure the baby is his, and he says she’s positive. Ivy and Julian move away, and she tells him that Whitney might be sure but she isn’t, because Whitney seems to be hiding something. She asks him why the girl would be so afraid of having a simple examination. Julian says maybe she just didn’t want to have it, but Ivy says she’s a big girl, her mother is a doctor, and she knows how vital it is to have a prenatal exam. He reminds her that Whitney told Fox he’s the father, but she says that’s just it, she didn’t. She tells him that Fox found the test in the garbage and confronted her with it and she wonders why the girl didn’t just come out and tell him she was pregnant. He says he doesn’t know, but if Fox isn’t the father, then Chad is, and he’s…Ivy jumps in and says he’s her half-brother, and that’s a perfect reason for wanting to pass the baby off as Fox’s and she won’t allow that. He asks if Fox is her only concern in all this, and she says if not her, who? He spends all his time worrying about his bastard son with Eve, even disowning Fox. He says none of this would have happened if Fox had heeded his word and stayed away from Whitney, but she tells him he created this mess by not telling anyone he had a son with Eve, and now it’s going to blow up in all their faces. In the exam room, Eve suggests that the baby might not be Chad’s and says they should do the test so they will know for sure. Whitney tells her she knows the truth, that she knows who she slept with and when, that she’s not a whore like Eve. She then tells her that she found out she was pregnant the same day she found out Chad was her brother, and that’s how she knows it’s his since she’d never been with anyone else. She says that she loved Chad, and what should have been the happiest day of her life turned into the absolute worst. Eve wonders at the fact that Whitney has been dealing with this all by herself all this time, asking why she hadn’t come to her. Whitney snorts and says “Do you really have to ask me that question, Mom?” Eve says “Whitney, I’m your Mom”, and the girl answers that after all that’s happened she doesn’t really feel like she has a mom. Eve is hurt by this, but Whitney continues talking, telling her that there is no one she can really talk to anyway, that Simone is too young and still blames her for stealing Chad away from her, as she sees it, she can’t talk to her dad because he would go completely crazy, and Theresa has her won problems with Rebecca and Gwen. She asks how you tell someone you’re pregnant with your brother’s child, and Eve tries to go over and take her in her arms as she says “Oh, my poor baby”, but Whitney pushes her away, telling her not to touch her, it’s all her fault anyway. (commercial)
Martin and Katherine are walking along the pier and see Luis and Sheridan standing there. He says they need to hide, not let the two see them. They move to another part of the pier to talk. Katherine talks about how happy they look, and is thankful she controlled herself and didn’t tell her daughter who she really is. She says it’s so hard, but he tells her it’s for the best. She agrees, saying it would tear them apart, and that Sheridan can never know who she really is. Meanwhile, at Beth’s house, she sits at her computer and says “All right, Mrs. Wheeler, I’m gonna really find out who you are.”
Julian tells Ivy that he and Eve had no idea their son was even alive until recently, much less that he was Chad. She tells him it’s a mess, just the same. He says Chad must be a wreck thinking he might have fathered a child with his own sister. She tells him there he goes, putting Chad first again. She asks what about Fox, that he really loves Whitney and if he finds out she lied to him it will kill him. Julian says they should hope that’s not the case, for everyone’s sake. He says he’s going to go talk to Chad and Ivy again berates him for putting Chad before Fox. She tells him he is his son and needs him, too. He tells her Chad needs him more right now and walks over to his son. Fox tells his mother it’s ok, he’s used to it, he used to put Ethan first, now it’s Chad. Julian tells Chad it must be a nightmare for him. His son tells him he loved Whitney, still does, and he thought the day he found out she was pregnant would be the happiest day of his life. Now, he says, he was wrong about that. In the exam room, Eve asks Whitney why she’s telling everyone the baby is Fox’s if she knows it’s Chad’s. Whitney asks if she thinks she wants the whole world knowing her child is the product of incest. She says she’s doing everything in the world to protect her child, that growing up is hard enough without everyone in the whole world knowing that your parents are brother and sister. Eve tells her she knows that, but keeping it a secret, lying to Fox…she can see what keeping secrets did to her and TC. Whitney agrees but says she had to do something because she would start showing soon, that she went to get an abortion but couldn’t do it, and then when she went on the Internet, all the things she found out that could be wrong with her child scared her. She says her mother knows what she’s talking about, but Eve tells her those things aren’t certain, and even if there are complications, they can deal with them. Whitney finds the word complications is a strange word to use in this case, that a complication is not having a date for the prom, or having a run in your stocking at a job interview. This isn’t a complication, and that’s why she can’t let anyone know Chad is the father of her baby. Eve asks how she can do this to Fox. Whitney tells her that Fox loves her, always has, and she has had feelings for him, too, that she kept hidden while she was with Chad, but when she found out she was pregnant and Chad was her brother, it just made sense. She says she does care about Fox, that he wants to be with her and he’d make a wonderful father, so she slept with him and tried to pass the child off as his. Eve asks if that’s the time they came upon them at the Crane pool, and Whitney says yes, that’s it. Eve said she’d always wondered how Whitney had managed to be with Fox so soon after finding out about Chad. She tells her daughter she can’t do this, can’t do it to Fox, can’t do it to the baby, and she can’t do it to herself. She tells her not to start with secrets and lies because they always come out and it always ends tragically, then says to trust her, she knows. Whitney tells her that’s just the chance she has to take, that she will do whatever it takes to protect her child, and there’s nothing she nor anyone else can do to stop her. (commercial)
Chad tells Julian that if he is the father he will be there for both of them for their whole life. Julian tells him he can’t…and Chad cuts in to say he knows, but he can be there as a co-parent to make sure the child knows it has parents, not like him, never having a real home, never feeling like he belonged. Julian tells him if he had known Chad was out there he would have spent his last breath to find him. Chad says that doesn’t matter, all that matters is Whitney and the child, that he wants to make sure this child grows up with the love of two parents. Fox, who’s been listening, comes around and says it’s not something he needs to be concerned about, that he will marry Whitney and the baby will be well taken care of. Chad asks how long that will last, telling him he gives it six months before Fox’s eye starts roaming. Fox says not this time, but Chad says he doesn’t believe it. Fox tells him he’ll see it and remember his place. Chad walks toward him asking “What’s that supposed to mean, white boy?” Fox says it means that he’s her brother, not her lover, so he needs to back off. Chad tells him to back off, and pushes Fox across the floor.
Eve tells Whitney she can’t pass the baby off as Fox’s, but Whitney asks who’s going to stop her. Eve says Ivy, for one, and says she’s already suspicious, that’s why she pushed so hard for the examination to see how far along she is. Whitney tells her those calculations aren’t always exact, but Eve says she’ll ask for a DNA test. Whitney tells her she won’t let them do one, but Eve says that’s all Ivy would need to confirm that Fox isn’t the father. Whitney says she doesn’t care, that she’ll think of something. Eve asks if she doesn’t think that Chad and Fox have a right to know. She tells her daughter that she knows she hates her and blames it all on her, but tells her not to cling to this lie because she’s angry about her past with Julian. Whitney tells her it’s not about her, it’s about protecting her baby and making sure no one ever finds out Chad is that father.
Tabitha sings to Endora as she and Pilar clean the house. “This is the way we clean the house, clean the house, clean the house. This is the way we clean the house, without using a magic spell.” Pilar walks in and tells her that Endora is a beautiful girl, and reminds her of her Paloma. Tabitha says Paloma was beautiful, too, and Pilar tells her that things change, that one minute they are little, then you blink and they’re all grown up. She says Tabitha will see, that before long Endora will be hanging out at the mall with her friends and they could grow apart. Tabitha says no, that will never happen, they will always be close. Pilar tells her she hopes so, because when a mother and daughter grow apart, there is nothing sadder in the world. Pilar walks back to finish cleaning as Tabitha ponders her words.
Kay, Simone, Paloma, and Maria are walking down the pier when they run into Jessica, who stops to talk to Maria. Kay asks if she wants to go get coffee with them, but she tells them she has to go meet some of her customers. Then she does a commercial for Mark jewelry and body spray, telling them to think of her and Mark when they want to do some Christmas shopping. She goes on her way. Paloma asks how Kay does it, being a single mom, and Kay tells her sometimes she doesn’t know herself. She talks about being tired and smelling like fish, but when she looks in Maria’s eyes and the love she has for her keeps her going. Paloma says her mother didn’t have that kind of love for her and that’s why it was so easy for her to send her away. The girls walk on to the Book Café.
Luis tells Sheridan that everything his mother prayed for all her life came true and it destroyed her life. He says that proves you have to be careful what you pray for. Sheridan says she prayed that her mother would come back to her, but says she can’t help but wonder how it would feel if it ruined her life.
Katherine wonders what if, despite all their efforts, Sheridan learns she’s her mother. Martin tells her she won’t, because the only other person in the world who knows who they are is Alistair and he’d never let it be known that she left him. He says that as far as the rest of the world is concerned, she died , there’s a funeral and a grave, and there’s no way Sheridan can find out she’s her mother.
Beth is looking on her computer for information on Mrs. Wheeler, but hits another dead end. She stops to think what she knows about the woman, and says she knows she’s from Harmony, that she knows what Sheridan looked like as a baby, that she tried to kill Alistair, wondering why and what the history is. She wonders how she met up with Martin, wondering if they had an affair and he ran away with her. She searches for information on Martin’s disappearance and finds out that everyone thought he was dead, didn’t think he would abandon his family, his body was never found, there were accusations of embezzlement and another woman. Then she says it is a coincidence that just when everyone was wondering what happened to Martin Fitzgerald dies, Sheridan’s mother Katherine died. She looks at the screen, then goes “Oh, my God! Wow!” (commercial)
Paloma tells her friends that she’s never marrying nor having children so she’ll never get the chance to do to them what her mother did to her. Kay says she doesn’t want to do what her mother did, either, but it’s not a reason not to have children, just a good way to learn how not to raise children, to avoid their mistakes. Paloma decides her birth was a mistake, that Pilar had four children and could barely support them, so the last thing she would have wanted was another child, but she couldn’t have an abortion since it is against the teachings of the church, so she sent Paloma away.
Luis tells Sheridan they have spent enough time dwelling on the past, that it’s time to forget about it and start thinking about the future, about getting married and having their own family. He tells her the sooner the better. She says she wants that so much, but she’s still legally married to Antonio, that they’ve never found his body. He tells her they both know there’s no way he could have survived the plane crash, that they need to have him declared legally dead as soon as possible and then they can get married and nothing can stop them from spending the rest of their lives together as man and wife. Martin and Katherine hear what their children are saying and are pleased.
Julian tells Fox not to treat his brother that way. Fox says he’s taking Chad’s side again, and tells him he should have known. Julian tells him that Chad is in a very difficult position and Fox asks if he doesn’t think he is in a difficult position. Then he tells him to forget it, he’s never gotten his support before, why should he expect to get it now, then walks off. Julian tries to talk to Chad, but he tells him not now, and walks away in the opposite direction from Fox. Ivy comes over and tells Julian to stop choosing Chad just because Eve is his mother. She tells him Fox is his son, too, even if his mother is evil little her. He starts to tell her that isn’t it, but she cuts in and says she know, it’s not worth fighting for and they did enough of that when they were married and she regrets it now because she took it out on the children he fathered by ignoring them and giving all her love and attention to Ethan because he was Sam’s son. She says it was wrong, and it’s wrong for him, too, that he’s doing the same thing by favoring Chad because Eve is his mother. He tells her it’s more than that, that he has a lifetime to make up for with Chad. She says that may be so, but Fox is his son, too, and he loves Whitney the way she loves Sam and he loves Eve, and that if he finds out this isn’t his baby, it will break his heart. In the exam room, Eve tells Whitney she has to tell the truth, it’s the right thing to do. Whitney asks what she knows about what’s right since her whole life is a lie. Eve says it’s not a lie that she’s her mother and she loves her and is trying to protect her the way she’s trying to protect her baby. She asks her to stop hating her for just one moment and start thinking about her child‘s future. She tells her that if there are any complications they will need to know exactly who the baby’s parents are so they can be able to help it. Whitney tells her she’s the one who said there probably wouldn’t be any complications so she’s not going to worry about it. Eve asks her what if there are, and Whitney turns it back on her again, telling her it’s all her fault, that if she hadn’t lied all her life this never would have happened, and if Fox hadn’t found the pregnancy test she would have given it up for adoption and no one would ever have known, but she did lie to her and Fox did find the test, so she’s going to do the only thing she can do, be the best mother she can be, everything that Eve wasn’t. Eve tells her again that she has to tell the truth, but Whitney says she can’t let the whole world know she’s pregnant with her own brother’s baby. Eve tells her if she doesn’t, Eve will. (commercial)
Pilar is leaving, and Tabitha thanks her for helping. Pilar tells her it’s the least she could do, then tells her to remember what she said , to love little Endora and never let her get away from her, because if she does, she may never get her back. Tabitha tells her she’ll remember, and Pilar leaves. Tabitha tells herself that she feels quite sorry for her, and that it’s an odd feeling, but that she can’t let personal feelings get in the way of her job, which is to bring misery to the people of Harmony, and they’re well on their way.
Kay tells Paloma that whatever her mother did or didn’t do, someday she will meet the right guy, fall in love, get married and have kids. Paloma tells her no she won’t because from what she’s seen, all it does is cause people pain.
Luis asks Sheridan if she wants to get married, and she says of course, but she’s just scared to even think about it because they’ve come so close before and something has always stopped them. Luis says nothing will stop them this time, he promises. Katherine says that they do look happy together, and Martin agrees. She hopes they will stay that way and says she thinks they will as long as she never finds out who she really is. Martin assures her again that she won’t find out, since only the two of them and Alistair know who she really is and none of them will tell her.
Beth is waiting for information to come up on her computer, wondering why it’s taking so long. It finally comes up, but she realizes she has come up with the wrong Mrs. Wheeler, since this lady is 82 years old. She swears she will find the information she wants if it’s the last thing she does.
Julian asks Ivy how long this exam should take, and Ivy tells him she should have been through by now. He say if Chad turns out to be the father Eve will be devastated. Ivy reminds him that Fox will be, too, but says it’s better they find out sooner rather than later, and if not from Whitney, then from Eve.
Whitney asks her mother if she’s going to tell them Chad is the father. Eve says that’s the truth, isn’t it, and Whitney answers yes, so Eve tells her that Chad and Fox need to know this, and if she won’t tell them, then Eve will. She turns to walk out as Whitney is speechless and ready to cry.
Previews: Theresa to Paloma: “Did you just say that Papa’s here in Harmony?”
Paloma’s reply: “Didn’t Mama tell you?”
Beth to Alistair: “Who is Mrs. Wheeler, and what is her real connection to Sheridan?”
Alistair to someone: “Sheridan and Luis will never last, not as long as Alistair Crane’s
pulling the strings.”
Sheridan to Luis: “Oh, Luis.”
